I'm not seeing that - screenshot? Chrome silently updates, so this might be a new Chrome feature.

EDIT: Looks like Chrome was just getting confused and the icon didn't update/remove when shifting from gmail to watmm

 

EDIT2: Yep that's definitely it as I was able to reproduce. Go to mail.google.com and then forum.watmm.com and the diamond icon (occasionally !) remains. I'm guessing it's a Chrome bug rather than a site bug.

Basically allows links in your Chrome browser to open Gmail instead of your machine's default mail client (Outlook, Mail, etc.) Good old Google - not being evil by being sneaky

Yeah it's a right pain, one of the main reasons why I switched back to 'old' BBCode mode. The recent update seems to have fixed any parsing errors that occurred when using that mode so I see no reason why to go back to the new one again.

I just came here to bitch about the quoting system. The default mode it's on is almost completely useless. Please to be fixing.

Try quoting luke viia's post, highlight the first word (i.e. 'it') or selected the text from the first word to any random point, and hit 'delete' - I believe this is the problem people are having....They can delete chunks of the quote so long as they don't delete the first word

i quoted luke's last post and only deleted "it really does", then i couldn't even get the cursor out of the lower quote box to write below it.

Ah, I see now - no, I was just saying I didn't have a problem with it, but I didn't try removing the first word. I'll check if this is a reported bug, and if not, submit it.

Yeah, there is still something wrong with the embed codes. It's an iframe now but it's not using the right URL.

 

It should use an iframe url formed like:

http://www.youtube.com/embed/2sWpoPVwamQ (this falls back to HTML5 or uses HTML5 if you are in the "trial" at http://youtube.com/html5)

not like: http://youtube.googleapis.com/v/2sWpoPVwamQ (doesn't fall back to HTML5 and is used atm)

I'll take a look at this and see if I can modify it or not - I don't know if there is a separate YT media code for mobile and the regular desktop skins - e.g.: If I change one, it might affect both - one fixed, other breaks, or vice-versa.

The http://www.youtube.com/embed/[youtubeid] url should work for both mobile and desktop. The googleapis.com url is deprecated afaik. (see: http://apiblog.youtube.com/2010/07/new-way-to-embed-youtube-videos.html)

 

I don't know why IP.Board is using the googleapis.com url by default. Is there anything more the embed should do than play the video and support fullscreen?

Not that I'm aware of.

I would change the replacement HTML into:

 

<iframe id="ytplayer" type="text/html" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/$3" frameborder="0"/></iframe>

Should have no negative side effects and the HTML5 fallback will work. I think it will only work for new posts since IP.Board converts tags at post time afaik?
