I have been planning to purchase Hash-Bar Loops since day one, don't worry.

Does anyone know if the CD/12" are being carried anywhere in the US? I'm buying it no matter what, but I'd really prefer to get it without having to convert my weak ass dollar into another currency...

does this sound like the old Deepchord? or more like Echospace?

It sounds like the second disc of Liumin with the field recordings & ambience mixed seamlessly with beatwork that I've not heard Modell do much of before...the beats themselves sound a lot more influenced by things like Wolfgang Voigt's Studio 1 project rather than dub or reggae stuff that Modell's rhythms usually veer towards.

Forget Boomkat and Clone - Juno has both the CD and 12" and only charges $8 to ship to the US.

I wouldn't say this is among Rod Modell's best releases but this is an interesting hypnotic album focusing on subtlety that requires quite a few listens. Like I said to some people, I felt Hash-Bar Loops more like a collection of loops that randomly fade out when each track ends. Nevertheless the album gets really better during the second half. I would defiantly buy this since I'm a fanboy though.

I don't know if you're familiar with earlier Deepchord (on the Deepchord label, not on Echospace) like the dc10-14 12" series (which you should defiantly check out if you haven't listened) but it's very subtle techno. I recognize the Deepchord sound from 10 years ago in Hash-Bar Loops, which Rod Modell didn't really bother to rediscover in the past years.

No i mean is the actual recording very quiet? I'm familiar with earlier deepchord stuff, but it just seems really quiet.
