I'd love to get my hands on one of those Strobo Trip things, but as far as i can tell, it will only be available at festivals and in-store appearances?

Or you can just buy the generic version for $24.95

oh pish posh, aside from superstix's on-point response, a record shop that was carrying the flaming lips' branded one estimated the price to be $35, which for a weird op-art device, is iiiiinfinitely more worth it than a $150 piece of candy/usb stick combo.

imo imo imo imo imo imo imo imo

edit: wait. you didn't post anything before that "I knew you'd end up contradicting yourself", chassis—are you keeping an eye on my contradictions in other threads or something?

I wonder if that 6 hour long track breaks some sort of record for longest song to be recorded live. Probably there's some week long museum installation piece out there made of nose winds. I dunno.

Also, does it actually sound like a cohesive track or just one massive jam session? I've only heard a lil bit.

Remember, shitty music inside gummy vaginas and human skulls

At this rate their next album will be a month long recording of television static, stored in a bio-organic computer which is then given free will & released into the jungles of Madagascar.

The recordings document "a series of unique and experimental sessions," according to a press release, and will be released in a very limited edition and never pressed again. The album comes as a 2xLP on multicolored vinyl, each disc with a unique design. A number of the tracks included have been culled from the Lips' previous collaborations with Neon Indian, Lightning Bolt, Prefuse 73, and Yoko Ono.

Side 1:

01 2012 (featuring Ke$ha and Biz Markie)

02 Ashes in the Air (featuring Bon Iver)

03 Helping the Retarded to Know God (featuring Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros)

Side 2:

04 Supermoon Made Me Want To Pee (featuring Prefuse 73)

05 Children of the Moon (featuring Tame Impala)

06 That Ain't My Trip (featuring Jim James of My Morning Jacket)

07 You, Man? Human? (featuring Nick Cave)

Side 3:

08 I'm Working at NASA On Acid (featuring Lightning Bolt)

09 Do It! (featuring Yoko Ono)

10 Is David Bowie Dying? (featuring Neon Indian)

Side 4:

11 The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (featuring Erykah Badu)

12 Thunder Drops (featuring New Fumes)13 I Don't Want You to Die (featuring Chris Martin of Coldplay)

Man, checked it out of fascination and now I'm hooked - that 6 hour tune is pretty damn cool. Would love to put this on during a party with some friends on a weekend.

did you try the 24 hour song?

Not yet, but I'd like to check out some of this newer Lips shit. I used to be a big fan years ago when I was in highschool, but after I got real into electronic music my tastes changed and I think once Yoshimi came out I was pretty out of phase with them. Definitely seems like they're still treading interesting territory even now. Eager to investigate further.
