Is it fair to say that "seeded" mustard is an American thing or am I way off the mark?

I don't think so. I like some wholegrain honey mustard on occassion.

uhmmmm (lol I even cannot attach files proberly  )

Best topic I have read on watmm for some while

I have just eaten a breakfast of 2 slices of toast with blueberry conserve and 2 bowls of cereal and was feeling rather full up. However upon reading this fine thread I am now fucking starving again and licking my lips like a big fat cat all alone in a fishmongers.

Like a gift from the Gods, I have a leftover joint of gammon in the fridge. Mmmmmmm, gammon and English mustard sandwiches.......

when i was about 3, as a last resort to try and stop me swearing, my mum smeared mustard thick on my tongue and locked me in my room without a drink. it fucking worked too!

as a result i couldn't eat mustard until well into my 20's. i started liking a little in sauces or mixed with mayo on a steak sandwich... now i smear it thick on my tongue for pleasure.

but for me... horseradish with roast beef or steak, mustard with ham or chicken.

now let's share our vinaigrette recipes:

-3 soup-spoonful of basil-flavored oil

-2 small soup-spoonful of balsamic vinegar

-a little less than half a soup-spoonful of (french) mustard

-salt

-paper lol ! pepper.

-a good stir.

no onions and garlic? Also lots of fresh parsley.

i prefer horseradish.

Agreed. Take any prepared horseradish (just the shaved root, not the stuff mixed with some creme or anything), mix with sour cream in a 1 tbsp/4tbsp ratio and you've got an awesome tasting 'radish that goes great on steak, lamb, roast - almost anything.

Inglehoffer and Beaver are some good 'stards that you can find in any boring suburban supermarket.

I totally just wrote 'stards.

Anyway, this is great on deli sandwiches:

The words "Beaver", "Russian", "Extra Hot", and "Mustard" so close together are putting some bizarre images in my head.

Candiru, it tastes like that imagery looks.

i was actually ridiculed in the park today for bringing a jar of english mustard to the park to go with our bbq burgers.

You need to educate your friends on the joy of getting properly mustarded.
