The Strokes albums.

With the exception of a couple of tracks on the last album, i concur.

Ye, actually only applies to Room On Fire and Is This It?

Too many albums are great for me, so I really can't put up any albums. On 99.99999% of my music I listen start to finish, and if there were misses on them I wouldn't do that.

The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium

Pinback - Summer in Abadon

Tortoise - Standards, TNT, but I really love all their stuff

Guest Greg Reason

Peter Gabriel - Up

Björk - Vespertine

The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour

John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band

Dead Can Dance - Into the Labyrinth

John Coltrane - pretty much everything from '64 onwards

Mingus - pretty much everything ever

DJ Krush - Jaku

Isis - Panopticon

Autechre - Draft 7.30

Boards of Canada - Geogaddi

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral

Mogwai - Happy Songs for Happy People

Sigur Ros - ( )

Radiohead - Kid A

The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute

so many more, can't think of them all

a lot of these albums have songs that sound similar.

consistency, i think, is what makes an album a "perfect" album. like, if you like the first track, you'll like all of the tracks because they sound the same.

but isn't "sameness" something to avoid when making an album? i guess it all depends

what's the difference between consistency and sameness?

i would just say consistency is more about quality

the only ones i can think of right now are...

Caribou - Andorra

DJ Shadow - Endtroducing

The Field - From Here We Go Sublime

The Good, The Bad & The Queen - The Good, The Bad & The Queen

Gorillaz - Demon Days

will come back to list some more.

Venetian Snares - Cavalcade of Glee. It's not particularly varied, but that means there's no weak track that's too much of a deviation or could be considered filler. Tache is probably the least strongest, because by that point the sound wears thin, it's also the second longest track and doesn't need to be. XIII's Dub and Twirl are more elegant and tranquil than anything he's ever done, and are placed so they give you a breather from the more full on tracks, while still being as rich and twisted. Then P is a sweet ambient track, and Cancel is the most emotional piece he's done.
