RDJ album vs. Drukqs vs. Rushup Edge

drukQs cuz it has variety and i can't get enough of the madness in tracks like 56 cymru beats and mt. saint michel mix.

i miss the beats, i have to say. these days it seems to be more about the mc-4

rushup edge had some of the beat i wanted, indeed. but moar, plz.

here's hoping for further releases of crunchy stuff in the vein of AB3, AB4, Ventolin EPs, Quoth EP, etc. I really miss that AB feel.

I feel similarly about Vibert (the cheesy acid house is fun and all, but I'd love to hear more Throbbing Pouchy stuff).

Drukqs is pretty much RDJ album plus old styles plus loads more. it's a massive, awesome album, as you should prolly know?

so for me, Drukqs. definitely. then the RDJ album.

you can forget the Tuss, imho (being a fan of old).

cos compared to Drukqs and the RDJ album... the whole Tuss/Analord-thang doesn't even compare, really.

it's good music and i like it, but... it's rubbish, compared to Drukqs/RDJ.

i was neither mocking people who take drugs, or people who take drugs to enhance their music-listening experience. i was merely pointing out it isn't necessary. one of the most intense music-listening experiences of my life was lying on the floor listening to tangerine dream's phaedra on - i'm fairly certain - more liberty caps than you'll ever take, son.

just to pop in and clarify real quick- I would not have needed drugs to enjoy drukqs (lol) in that setting, or for gwely mernans to be interesting or anything. You can have amazing musical experiences while sober, as I have many times in the past. I was just excited when I posted because it was a completely different experience than I had ever had before with listening to drukqs, and when gwely mernans came on, I was so immersed in it that I completely forgot that I was in my own room the whole time the song was playing.

and that's cool. i totally wasn't having a go at you, and in fact probably envy that experience considering i finally acquired drukqs in early 2002 after a spell of living in the netherlands :)

it's people who find drukqs, sorry drugs necessary to enhance their experience when listening to music that i find annoying. if you actually need to be in an altered state to appreciate an album, well maybe you just don't like it as much as you think you do. and the corollary; lie down and listen to autechre's confield in a dark room from start to finish, and if you're not in an at least somewhat altered state by the end, well, i just don't know.

no, i agree, you don't need drugs to enjoy drukqs. you don't need drugs, period. but i just don't like people who bash drugs. because there's A LOT to be gained from using drugs in the right way.

i spose the key is to use drugs and not let them use you, too much. and kaini, as a man of the world and an awesome intellectual, all knowing internet body, you should know what i'm on about. further more, the Beatles, for example, all of them used drugs, and Paul still does, no doubt. and i know the kaini likes the beatles

rdj album and drukqs dont really compare to me. I dont see the connection. Analord interest comes and goes. It is lovely and like all my fav albums goes in and out of interest for me. Depending on my moods.
