haven't listened to the m83 album (never got into him) but +1 on this album. dope as hell. i love the heart: pieces.

Let's not derail this thread by saying "I don't like M83, but I REALLY like this artist instead..." kind of stuff.

i think Saturdays = Youth is M83s best album and Dead Cities is totally average with a few great songs. some good/great songs on the new one and Before the Dawn.

now that i've cleared that up Zonoscope is a better album than this

His music has always been in commercials, before Victorias Secret was a Red Bull one. I LOVE the new album btw, listened to it on repeat forever.

this album is legend. if you are old enough to remember 80s music well, you'll love this album even more.

when i heard that insane slap bass break on that one track, i lost my mind. how did that sound so fucking good? i hate slap bass!

and some of those shimmering metallic guitar chords? i seriously haven't heard anyone sound like that since 1985.

and yet at the same time, the album doesn't sound that dated really. i don't know how he pulls that off.

80's instrumentation & sounds with modern mixing & recording techniques?

I really like this album, although there are a few clunky moments where I hit the skip button (especially the one with the kid talking about frogs). It sounds fantastic and there are some great songs, in general the album flows well.
