True, he was doing that in the early 50's but his "retirement" phase from 1975 to 1980 was fueled by massive amounts of cocaine and was definitely epic.

he must have been a delirious mess the last few years of his life, i imagine it was well worth it though.

I used to use meth when I was 18/19. It was fun I guess. Just get tweaked out with friends and do whatever all night. The majority of my coworkers and myself would get high before the rush at work (working in a kitchen), "Five dollar lines in the freezer in 15 minutes!"... Then I stayed up for 5 days straight and decided I really didn't want to do meth any more. Since then I haven't done any meth :sup:
