I was rebutting franklin's understanding that everything will work itself out because nature and by extension society, will reorder things into a state that will allow us to overcome the problems created by the older systems that messed up the world (for example, big business without environmental regulation). This trust to nature and the fates he said, means that we don't need to worry about environmentalism.

My counterpoint to this is that environmentalism, is reorganisation of the societal system that he was talking about. So therefore we shouldn't reject it. The first paragraph was an example of what it would have been like had we not had environmentalism.
