pics you took that you're pleased with

@dar your insect shots are super beautiful, both in terms of how you capture the subject matter & compositionally. can't pick a fav from the most recent...they all have a great sense of depth to them, as if I were looking at much larger beasts from another world (the first one is also somewhat unsettling because the matching greens almostm make it look like those things are growing out of one central mass like polyps). Evocative & emotional & mysterious in a way I can't quite place my finger on. Reminds me of being a teenager, staying up late listening to ambient music & browsing nature photography on tumblr (that was a decade ago now? good god). Inspires me to keep finding hidden worlds in the everyday experience

I'm hardly a closed minded nun. Remember, I'm on a fucking IDM forum.... an IDM forum.. Think about that for a second before claiming people are closed minded nuns.

thank you all

@cryptowen: pretty dope track, it fits the atmosphere of your pictures really well. Something about the colours and glitches give them a dream like quality. This is my fav:

Hope I don't spam this thread too much with my photos but this is what I made yesterday:

darreich those are all of course wonderful, love the coccooning spider and the green mass of weirdness the most. :)

crypto there's a lot of personality in those recent shots, despite being mostly landscape and large perspective/observational. reminds me of how osc so often does the same (imo)

gonna edit this from mobile with a shot or two of mine from recently

no edits except cropping and aligning. I'm trying to learn how to adjust my photo taking to compensate for my phone's camera as well as exploit the cameras strengths and weaknesses. 04fac1c4d2b59f93906f35d274e5b022.jpgdf6a3040f3cec166f72bab019fa79b98.jpg2ff9d33f081f7e9d38229514c4233ec7.jpgad7359deead8497f9eed0fccf063e6e9.jpg

I love the reflections on the lake surface and the colours of the evening sun. In the first pic I wish there was more to be seen of the branch in the foreground, maybe from a perspective that in order to achieve it you would have to climb the tree. Last time I climbed a tree was many years ago at the age of maybe 9 when me and my two best friends at that time made it a challenge to climb on all kinds of things around our hood, mostly trees. I think it's a good thing to do, at least it was for us at that time. So your pictures actually made me remember that time and made me think about climbing a tree again which I might do at some point again but not sure yet. In that way they actually were more thought-provoking than a lot of high resolution beautifully edited pics made with a fancy camera for me subjectively at the moment I looked at them. On second thought I might have climbed a tree much later in my life again, now that I think through it. Perhaps two years ago when I was really drunk. When did you climb a tree last time?

Only first image working there Michael Jackson, you seem to be in my vicinity.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Hit me up if you're headed to Bergen and want to grab a burger and beer, or go on a short hike or some shit with a balding old gimp.

What is this exactly? it's so detailed it almost looks like CGI. I'm on a phone screen but everyone knows this is the best way to enjoy BR2049 so I don't think that's the reason... :^)

It's a plant lice colony :-)

@TIMJ looks like a ril nice part of the world you're in. i think my favourites are the very first shot (perhaps in part because it's giving off that particular "everything lining up just right" feeling that i've typically looked for when i'm out doing landcape stuff), and the second last one with the grid building (there's something interesting going on with the colours & contrast in this one, makes it feel almost but not quite like a still from a vhs tape, but much without any of the static).

@darreichungsform that shot of the mosquito(?) head on the right side is my favourite outta this batch...looks like the cover to a classic hard techno album from an alternative universe 2004

i haven't been editing any shots recently because i'm focusing energy into album production (release soon? i feel good about this one!). haven't gone out on any photo expeditions either so most of the shots are random things that caught my attention while going from Point A to B. will have to go through them soon, am curious to see if any interesting small moments were captured or if it's all just random

w/r/t that feeling i mentioned of getting everything to line up just right - so far that's typically happened when i'm overlooking nature, or at a high vantage point with plenty to take in & lots of time to line up the shot. i'd like to get to the point where i'm able to get that feeling in all sorts of environments - small areas, interiors, transient moments with people or moving animals. really deep down the motivation is to master "photos as art" & "photos as journalism" because to me that would suggest that one not only has a vibrant life of varied experience but also that they're able to document it in a compelling fashion
