Autechre Modeselektor

Hey,

Am I the only one here considering Modeselektor as master musicians ? I'm quite mixed up actually because they made quite few things and the later ones may announce a kind of more dancefloor / commercial orientation in their future music BUT I'm also very excited about everything they'll release next because some of their tracks contain what I consider to be extremely good music.

I really think Modeselektor has a braindance potential in their own way. Their discography shows a duality between minimalism and mind-blowing-ness that one can rarely find. Like Autechre used to do for example. Simple melody, simple beats but much magic and power.

I really wonder what the fuck they're waiting for to release more music but at the moment they seem quite occupied to produce music from other musicians ; that disappoints me.

They have a very solid output. Personally I prefer the stuff with Apparat but I just like everything he has anything to do with. The weakness of Modeselektor's albums is the shitty guest vocalists. Thom Yorke was pretty good but apart from that... that Paul St Hilaire guy is forcefully annoying.

Needs a new Moderat LP. That was the best electronic album I had heard in a LONG time.

I LOVE Modeselektor, they're one of my favourite :)

They are working hardcore on a new LP at the moment... till then I'll just have to treasure my signed vinyl copies of both their albums ;)

I would love to see 'em live .

they're one of the more recent acts that i automatically buy when they release stuff.i prefered things like rusty nails than some of the more dancehall stuff , but whatever they do has interesting beats and noises .

and apparat is playing live in london soon :)

Moderat is a fucking great collab album... I've always dug Apparat alot, I'd love to hear more collabs

How do you know that ? I regularly google Modeselektor hopping to find such an info but I never succeed.

Also, I agree the Moderat album contains some great moments but don't like it at the same level I do with Modeselektor. I find it less catchy and sometimes a little too soft. It doesn't excite my ears and brain as much as the clear synth + harsh beats soundscapes Modeselektor excel in.

Apparat's gone very very soft for the new album, not sure what his live show will be like but probably not dance stuff. I like his songs but it's not going to be for everyone.

Yeah it's quite crazy that Apparat joins Mute, isnt't it? Looking very forward to his next album, especially since I didn't like that Modarat album that much...

Listened to Black Water this morning, sounds gorgeous. The percussion on both tracks sound great.

Well, I'm very pleased that they're working on another Moderat release. Apparat is going into dullhouse territories. Modeselektor I like a couple of their tunes but on the whole I've not gotten into them.

Bloc festival, they said it's their last show as Moderat for now because they're working on another album!
