(such as Laraaji and Brian Eno); techno wise, I prefer stuff like The

Orb, or the few ambient/house combo groups out there (Vaporspace, for

There is really not much to say, but it makes you wonder what this

world is coming to. It really upsets me that he left his wife, and

his daughter behind. Also due to the fact that he left Courtney the

law suit that is being filed against them.

Well, I guess I have to disagree on this one. I find the new mixes to be

very interesting. As usual, the drum structures are complex (in that

Autochre kind of way). The use of sounds fresh and geared into new

boundaries. Autochre is definately one of the few projects taking techno (?)

and standard techno gear into new directions. This is not a dance EP, but

a great listen in the dark. Anyone who enjoyed the Incunabula CD will get

into this. Mind music for today.

Does anybody know anything about the Aphex Twin Techno

artist from Belguim. He is supposed to release an album

called Didgeridoo on R&S records. An epic at around 160 bpm.

mellow, smoother than Polynomial-C and Digeridoo. If you like ambient

stuff, get it! Even the old stuff doesn't sound dated at all. Jeez, he

Is Eno still doing that ambient music stuff? He lost me after

"Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy" and a few songs on "Before and

After Science". His ambient video display was here in Berkeley a

while ago complete with sofas. So here were all these people very

quietly and intently watching a barely, if at all, changing video

monitor and listening to ambient music. I thought the whole point

of this ambient stuff was that you were supposed to go about

doing whatever you had to do and then only occasionally glance at

his video or tune into his music. Otherwise its too boring. By the

way the tv monitors were turned on their side, oh how clever!

Porn was there way before Facebook.

browsing wattem on dial up took forever.

It's odd, very different from message boards and mailing lists today. I like how they couldn't just Google around for information, so they had to rely on each other's memories and opinions. They can also be terribly rude, but somehow different from todays trolls.
