on the flip side tho, props to L. Ron Hubbard for being all like "why is prophecy a dead art? I'll just make some crazy shit up and see if people believe it."

Would somebody like to share why they think the idea of polygamy is such a frowned upon thing. It seems harmless.

I've been seeing a fair amount of disapproval and can't imagine why.

Let's turn it around a bit and say that your wife decided she wanted more than one husband. Would you be cool with it?

meh, believing in one invisible sky wizard is just as wacky as believing in some other one (or the same one, with slightly wackier rules)

Know about Mormons because Missouri outlawed them and hunted them out West. Also, the Center Of Zion is in my back yard (Independence, MO.), holla at your boy, party in my crib @Second Coming when it will become the newfound Garden Of Eden woop woop

In the event of the rapture, that thing will turn into a giant mechanized tank/drill and burrow into the earth to save the Mormons from the wrath of God for not being the correct sect of Christian. Always gotta have a plan B.

Why don't you talk to a 14 year old child bride about it.

That seems to be a question of whether or not marriage to fourteen-year-olds is appropriate, not the quantity of people that one may marry. Does marriage to young people relate to the debate about polygamy? Are they forced/arranged marriages?

Some people will be cool with that. Some people will not be. It's up to those in the relationship to come to their own understanding and agreement.

Once they resolve that issue a more important question arises: Why should polygamy be illegal when there is consent between all parties?

I bet the reason monogamous marriage was invented in the first place was so you KNOW that kid is your kid. At least you would hope. If you are one of 5 husbands and your shared wife gets knocked up, you'll want a DNA test before deciding to stick around I'm sure. But really, fuck that altogether.

This can be said about Scientology, but everyone feels the need to hate on them over anyone. Religionlol.

I practice polygynecology. I like nothing better than to sit in the middle of a circle of women in stirrups.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

edit: scientology is a money-making scheme which requires you to pay out to reach the next level of awareness/knowledge/enlightenment/etc, so that argument isn't quite the same.

if you're a mormon and you don't give the church 10% of your income after taxes you can't go to the temple, can't save your dead ancestors, can't receive endowments, can't be temple-married, and all of this ultimately means you cannot get into the celestial kingdom of heaven and get your own planet...

yeah, that's pretty shitty, but it really doesn't hold a candle to scilons extracting literally hundreds of thousands of dollars from people to lvl up. for me, anyway.

Yea, but to my knowledge, you don't have to level up. I enjoy Scientology because I don't find it as rule intensive and condescending as the Abrahamic religions. While they live by The Way to Happiness (You will be happy if you follow these basic steps), Christians, for example, are supposed to follow the 10 Commandments (God will hate you if you don't follow these steps).

I also like Beck's quote, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beck#Scientology

Either way, I'm going to remain religion-less, but I think Scientology gets a lot of unneeded shit flung at them. I blame Southpark.

any religion that asks for your $$$ is not a religion, it's a business (which is, in fact, what the scilons are in a number of countries).

I actually had some sneaky scientologist recruiters in my high school; they thought they could backdoor me into scientology by getting me hooked on L Bob Rife L Ron Hubbard's straight SF novels.

I read about 10 pages and swore of religion forever.

Lol, You win this round. Cross that off of list of decent religions. I wasn't aware of those outright scams.

Yes yes, I know about Xenu, as ridiculous as other invisible sky wizards imo, so that was never a turn off.

But yea, too many scams. Guess I can only respect Jainism at this point.

yeah but i'd take a hundred elrons over brigham young.

i mean i think he's basically what elron wanted to be. governor of a state, ruled with an iron theocratic fist, had people killed on a whim, and married 55 women...
