Nonima has always made me think it should've been on the Garbage Ep. replace Garbagemx36 with it and it's be a perfect ambient release for AE.

not that i don't absolutely love Garbagemx36, but it's the odd man out on that EP.

speaking of, no one ever gives Garbagemx36 any love. what's the time signature on the weird little melody right in the middle of the track when everything else cuts off? who else loves that track?

I thought Garbagemx36 gets quite a bit of love here?

It reminds me of a James Bond Score..... and thats a good thing... i don't know why. And Vletrmx21 is the one that seems a little out of place on the EP... beatless track, but nevertheless i think they all fit as well as any EP they've done. I think Anvil EP's first track defiantly doesn't;t fit with the rest. Anyone else not like Second Bad Vilbel a great deal? I mean it's a decent song, but a certain sound ruins it for me and i don't have it on any playlists... can't say that that about many AE tracks fortunately

Ok cool, was just going through Minidisc, but it's obviously not originated from minidisc... whats the origins of this remix, does it have the same name? I thought the only Gescom release was the Minidisc series??? I love devil BTW. I played it at my mates recording studio on his 20k high-end speakers and he thought it fucked his speakers :biggrin:

no, not at all!

they've released a lot of good stuff!

Here's one of my favorites that I've never really seen discussed:

It's in 7/4 time, which gives it an unusual lilting kind of feel.

Ae != Gescom

that being said, the Keynells are excellent and Gescom are responsible for producing the best live mix I've ever heard: 2003 in Strasbourg, found it off this board

thanks, WATMM

THATMM

write that down in your copybooks now

Where can I find that live mix?

What you say is true generally (for example, Stoop sounds more like Bola than Autechre, and who knows how many artists contributed to Minidisc), but I suspect that the skfl2 track is written by booth and brown. Definitely the Gescom track on Alt. Frequencies 3 is by Booth and Brown, since it says so in the liner notes.

Good point though

I just hope Rob Hall keeps contributing to Gescom. tbh my favourite elements of the Gescom sound are the more accessible hiphop and electro bits, like when you want something that's related to but not as experimental/fucked up as Ae.
