for some reason, I never had good hand foot cordination to play actual drums. But I wailed on these.

This was my first instrument - age 8. I still have a couple chanters and a goose in my garage.

Pretty good on Alto Sax. Used to play keyboard years ago but haven't touched one in years.

:doge: Jet fuel can't melt dank memes :doge:

I play drums, guitar, bass, keyboards and drum machines (I'm also DJ with actual turntables... I kind of think there is a musical skill that is required, even though it isn't technically considered an instrument). I've been in bands playing all.

I'm best at drums, bass and guitar. I know when most people say that, it means they must be ok at one and suck at the rest, but I'm actually really good on all 3. I've been playing guitar since I was 8 and drums since I was 10.

I normally end up in bands as a drummer because there are fewer drummers out there. I've never toured with a band on guitar or keyboards but I have on bass and drums.

When I was 6, I took violin lessons.

I play guitar (which i'm really good at), bass (which i'm decent at), and piano (which i am a relative noob at).

I started on upright bass and electric bass, but also know a little guitar, piano, and drums. I'm also pretty good at hand percussion. I love to play baroque pieces on double bass, though. That's what I'm the best at.

I've been trying to learn the mandolin lately. I've never played a stringed instrument with different tuning, so this is confusing

Trumpet for 10 years, off and on. Jazz band in middle school, marching band in high school. I really need to brush up, I haven't played in a good year but I'd love to do some freeform jazz stuff (would require lessons though)

Trying to teach myself keys/piano, but I only have access to one once a week. I can noodle decently enough and usually know how many keys to move my fingers to find the next note I want, but right now it's all just guesswork.

Bongos are decent fun, I play them whenever I can get my hands on them, and if I can't, I play any flat surface I can hit. I wouldn't say I'm great, but I can get some pretty cool rhythms going.

Guest theSun

trumpet for 10+ years, bass for ~10 years, a little guitar.

i love love love drumset but i'm not that solid on it. i can do some tricky little fills but i need a metronome to not fuck up or change tempo.

also keys/piano in idm setting, so just noodly little parts that don't have all wrong notes lol

Drums for 20 years. Full kit, congas, djembe, woodblocks, snare, you name it.

And I know my way around Little Sound DJ pretty well. :emotawesomepm9:

Other than that, I mess around with Guitar / Bass and played cello for a few years, but not at a high level. My keyboards are used primarily as tools for working out melodies, sounds, and using a vocoder but asking me to improv would be for laughs!

I took Piano lessons when I was young, so I guess I've been playing that for 15 years. I don't practice enough, so I'm losing my ability to play two hands at once. Currently trying to write some songs using my Syntesizer/Work Station, but as always, I've only been able to crap out one phrase. Then I guess it will sit in the memory card and never become anything.

I can play the Clarinet quite well, but I haven't touched it for a year now. I guess I've been playing it for 10 years. I might play in my university's band if my class schedule will allow it.

I've owned an Accordion for about 5 months. I'm okay at it. The accordion isn't a very fantastic stand-alone instrument. I used to have some friends and we'd jam out in a garage. At that time I had a melodica and wanted the accordion. Got the accordion, and now I have no one to play with. The thing is so fucking loud too, so people don't want to hear me practice it all of the time.

I can play the recorder. But I think most people can.

I want an Autoharp. My Dad has one, and I've played it once before. It's a blast to jam out on since I'm completely inept at playing stringed instruments.

i know all about this. when i pick up a guitar i kinda automatically end up writing in E. or on my midi controller, in C.

it's a difficult thing to break out of.

So many piano players here!

I've played since I was a kid, including competitively in high school. I've gone through phases of playing 3 hours a day, but right now it's more like 1-2 hours a day. I still give solo classical performances publicly around 5-10 times per year. My favorite song to play live is:

I've always wanted to learn tbe drums and always thought it was too late. if I did it the first time I thought that I'd be a 10 year vet by now.
