What is the actual release date for this? I see 8/14 and 8/22 listed on the website... both which have passed, but they still have all the preorder stuff up.

Mine arrived here in England today, so no complaints. The whole thing is sexy as fuck. The fact that an artist or label (or both in this case I suppose) would go to such efforts over 'just' a 7" single proves to me that the people involved genuinely give a shit about what they do.

Incidentally, is Milk Mouth what I think it is? I also reversed the actual 'Happy Halloween' YouTube track * and realised that it's part of the alternative version of Babies In Your Body (sorry if this jazz or just a million miles wide of the mark). And Brian, is Milk Mouth likely to be made available digitally at a later date?

FINALLY got to hear this! The digital downloads offered only include the 2 original tracks, so I had to seek the other 2 by different means. Anyways, both songs are AWESOME!! They retain the classic Freescha sound but also sound fressshhh!

I would kill for an album of this stuff. Anyone know if they're working on more??

Not that I am aware of. A9 are trying to keep at least one track on all the new vinyl releases exclusive to the format to keep it just a bit special for those who own one.

Freescha are like Wonka's chocolate factory - nobody ever goes in, and nobody ever comes out! As someone on the label I can say this might be it for Freescha for a while, but then to be honest, you never really know...

Oh well, fair do's, at least I've got it in some shape or form. And speaking of which, what about this Orick + other dual 7".....?

I just got my copies of this today, and it looks/sounds beautiful. Basically it is a two-single set with a 7" from Orick and a 7" from me, both following the same format of vocal pop song A-side + ambient B-sides. Orick's 7" is on marbled grey vinyl and mine is marbled brown, and we've also remixed each other's A-side tracks as ambient versions. Their mix of mine is like...dreamy Hawaiian ambient music. For those not in the know, Orick is Nick Huntington (of Freescha, Night Sequels, Christmas Lights, etc) and John Borucki.

Anyway the first 48 copies are autographed by all three of us and also include three photo prints, one taken by each of us, unique to each copy. We're also following the format of the last few A9 vinyl releases with vinyl-exclusive tracks.

Bit of a gratuitous bump (sorry Joyrex), but I'm still playing the crap out of this daily, which hasn't eased with the release of the Terror Train album. And I'm guessing I'm not the only person who thinks that Babies In Your Body is exceptional. I think this is going to be my favourite release of the year.

Yes, agreed 100% - I haven't stopped playing BIYB at all, and it really hasn't worn down at all.

Seems to be a few people then that this record has made quite an impression on, not bad for a one-off 7" single.

oh yes, same with the lift EP...

i really love the lift ep, that and head warlock are my favorites.. i forgot about this release though, will definitely check it out soon!

Not played this for a little while, spun it tonight and it was like hearing it for the first time. What the hell is it with this record?

Yes love it, love it, love this record! This record has what IDM lost a long time ago, which is pop sensibility. And yes, "Milk Mouth" is just a reversed clip of BIYB. Was hoping for a real exclusive track, but I'm overjoyed w/ this record anyway!

Blatant bump, sorry, but if people are thinking about the best releases of 2011 then this has to be there somewhere. Still obsessed with this record.

+1

I too have been a bit shocked how under the radar new Freescha was this year. I mean, I know it's been years since Freeschaland and even longer since HWDS, but dammit THIS IS FREESCHA. :sparta:

This Ep was my favourite release of the year. Yeah, there was other good stuff- Midnight Section, parts of Scintilli, Terror Train, Xander Harris debut album and a few other bits but Freescha trumped everyone with a simple 7 inch that contains perhaps the best stuff they've ever written.

If they can keep that kind of quality, a new album would be amazing.

is there a digital version of this available?

There is (from attacknine and iTunes, and maybe others), but it only includes 'Babies In Your Body' and 'Heartbreak Attack'. The vinyl bundle includes additional digital-only alternative versions which are also worth grabbing.
