hell yeah! this was probably my favorite on first listen to the new album. That beat. Those rhymes and flows. Truly remarkable: 'Valentino camo on my infantry' - Westside Gunn says humbly that he is only a curator, he such a great emcee, though.

I also loved this Conductor Williams beat, sounds like vintage Kanye gospel flip:

Enjoyed the EP he put out right before the album too, some really good downtempo drums-low-in-the-mix beats:

So grateful for this music

straight fire.

it's an incredible track - I mainly use spotify for music, although I been getting into bandcamp more, but I understand the hate for spotify, how it exploits music artists economically and also the low-grade resolution for audio, but I gotta admit that the algorithms they use are pretty good. I discovered that DJ Sacred track from searching for and then listening to a DJ Screw song, and the Sacred track came on after it automatically. I otherwise would never have found or listened to it. Still working on finding the best DJ Screw tracks too, really like the chopped and screwed sound, really unusual and unique. On that netflix documentary Hip Hop Revolution, they did a little segment on Screw, and one of the guys from his crew said that the slowed down beat, mixed with drinking lean, was like having a ribeye steak with a nice glass of red wine, which is hilarious. Also read that the first time Screw experimented with the slowed and pitched down style, that he was slowing down a mantronix record. This stuff is great:

Classic shit, first time I heard from him was 20 years ago, pretty crazy how it penetrated mainstream rap in the following years...

Skimming back through 9th Wonder's discog this week. I haven't listened to this stuff for ages but it feels so nostalgic.

This is so strange to see. I heard a few tracks of his that I thought were kinda decent, ass lyrics but nice form so to speak but jesus. I have a family member in Italy who is this overweight, maybe even more and her life is absolutely dogshit, she can barely walk five steps without having to rest. Hope we see this guy lose weight before he straight up dies from some organ failure
