She was born in Canada. Doesn't mean she lives there now. I also love the statement: "nothing ... would suggest a Boards of Canada connection, other than ... the ... National Film Boards of Canada ... work." And I'm sure Melissa Olson is a really common name as well. Let's see, she's a similar age, has a Canada *and* a NFBoC connection, and has done some work in the film/video industry. I think Occam's Razor puts the ball in your court to provide evidence that she's *not* the same person.

Just because she has a NFBOC affiliation does NOT mean she is associated with BoC.

NFBOC =! BoC - other than the fact they based their name off the NFBOC.

I admit that one could say there is a trend pointing towards that being the case, but I think it's just trying to see things in the clouds and has no real basis in reality.

I don't know that yours is necessarily the simplest of all possible explanations, I'd say there's a possibility you're right, but I think that the NFBoC connection is irrelevant. All we really have is two people with the same name and occupation, assuming that BoC's Ms. Olson exists at all.
