Hehe got the Rpeg intro before the drums kick in as my alarm at the moment, made sure it loops around nicely too

ae are great for ringtones:

my text alarm is a 10 second clip of the digital noises off the end of 'vose in'

ringtone is an edit of the start of 'v-proc'

alarm clock is 'left blank'

all good stuff, though the text alarm does give me some funny looks on public transport.

My ringtone has been the intro synth to Inhake2 for around 2 years now. Should probably change it so I can listen to the song again without thinking my phone is ringing!

Precisely why I haven't done this yet. I don't want to think my girlfriend is texting me to pick up dinner every time I throw EP7 on. And if she texted while the same song was on I think the world would explode.

I had the Super Mario World intro sound as my message tone on my last phone. Stupid iphones though, not allowing custom message tones!

I think I've said this before, but the best possible ringtone is 'M9' by Boards of Canada.

I've been using the first few bars of Augmatic disport as my ringtone for years.

Other sources for good ringtones are Alva Noto's website and this Touch comiplation.

i've had the same exact rpeg text message tone for like 6 years on my shitty Sony Ericsson w810 bar phone

6ie.cr is my ringtone

Back in the day I ripped the ae-logo sound from the Gantz Graf DVD. I can't use it as a ringtone because I just think, nice, then I think oh shit that's my phone.

That was indeed pretty cool. As were those Alva Noto snippets.. makes me think that both Microstoria and Ryoji Ikeda also have awesome stuff for this purpose, but say.. if those are all good text notifications, what do you use for ringtones?

one very unfortunate side effect of this is that I rarely get phone calls and have a general distaste for phone calls in general, so when my phone does ring, I have a negative gut reaction, or think that something is wrong. now whenever rpeg or 6ie.cr come on and it's not my phone, my stomach sinks and I get confused until I figure out what's going on, and even then there's an impenetrable eeriness when trying to just listen to 6ie.cr as my brain goes "phone phone phone phone phone DUDE phone"

because of this, soon after setting the ringtones, I resolved to make my ringtone something less precious to me, or to make one myself, but I never did and now it's far too late.

Yeah I've changed mine now. I've started making my own, might put a Pselodux ringtone pack online if anyone is interested. Not snippits of my actual tracks, more like little melodies that sound like actual ring tones.

Downside is that hardly anyone ever calls my phone. Only my parents and one of my bandmates. Everyone is texting these days. When will Apple allow custom message tones on iphones?

I had been using the delayed synth sound at the beginning of nth dafeuser.b for quite some time, just recently switched to the sonic screwdriver from Dr Who.

I use the HEV battery pickup sound from HL.
