keltoi
funny story tho – that I thought would have the hummus lovers laughing…..I recently made the mistake of buying hummus from the store – I hadn’t made it – but my sister does and it’s great and what can I say – I has a hankering…..the store bought stuff was just TERRIBLE!!!! I couldn’t even eat it – it was just icky and not nice. I told this to my sister – who was kind enough to bring me some that she made. When I was serving it up on a tray with pita wedges and carrots – my nephew (who is 4) innocently asked me “uncle – why would you buy icky hummus from the store?” I just started to giggle – I didn’t have a good answer and what can you say to that….outta the mouths of babes….. well i’m off to use this recipe to start making my own! hurray! hello spiral
Yep, been scalded many a time by cutting into freshly toasted pitta and getting in the way of internal steam escaping which seems to be hot enough to smelt iron. I live in Pinner, which has a large Jewish population (I actually live opposite the Synagogue). So our Sainsburys has two small Jewish sections. The chilled one has houmous, chopped liver and beef hot-dogs etc. The dried goods part (next to the Indian section) has matzos, stock cubes, peanut flavored crisps and passover candles etc. Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide hello spiral's signature Hide all signatures https://salaamhelicoid.bandcamp.com/ Reveal hidden contents Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/68085-hummus-appreciation-thread/page/5/#findComment-1638218 Share on other sites

QBLA
I had hummus over at a friends house on friday night... my wife and I looked at eachother like wtf? it was home made and no taste... she didn't put any other garlic or spices to give it a kick... just bland... I didn't say anything though... just took a couple more bites just to not offend her. Guest Lindrum Larry Cocopipe
I'm a big hummus fan. Went to a Greek restaurant in Miami where they served it up in a little bowl with grinder and slice of lemon for you to mush it up yourself. Proper fucking tasty!
