The Orb released The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld. I still listen to this album a few times a week, easily one of my top 5 albums of all time. Queue that shit up yall.

Anyway... I like tracks 3, 4 and 5 on disc one, they sound very nostalgic even though I obviously didn't hear this album 20 years ago, I didn't listen to any music when I was 6 except for videogame music :P

I heard "Earth (Gaia)" playing in an ethiopian restaurant in new haven, ct a few years back. Almost brought me to joyful tears because it was unexpected. (because i was drunk).

At my funeral, I would like my corpse to be launched out of a cannon into a brick wall that is 10 feet away, and then have this song play afterwards.

Gaia is my favorite Orb track. Bloody brilliant track that is!

Also '91 was an awesome techno/house/whateverthehellitwascalledbackthen year.

the production standard still sounds good even today and if it wasn't for the 90's hippy vibe (which it kinda also defined) it wouldn't sound dated at all imho

I want to be cryogenically frozen and kept in the living room as a reminder. My body will be standing upright and I'll have my hand out with my index finger pointing disapprovingly.

Awesome. Its a great album, and I will listen to it again tonight. I picked up the 15 year anniversary re-release with the remix disc and John Peel session tracks on, definitely worth your money if you do not own this album already.

Yeah, meh is a bit strong - perhaps I meant to say "eh" and mistyped?

Either way, the Orb is awesome - certainly one of the pioneers of electronic music.

Fun fact: Alex Patterson, under the guise of High Frequency Bandwidth, did the awesome music for both Pixeljunk Shooter 1 and 2 on the Playstation 3. Great soundtrack, especially 2.
