life without caffeine

Recommended Posts

I love espresso/delicious coffee but I have to be careful, I had some 2 weeks ago w/o eating a big meal all day and was up til 6am playing angry birds. I almost never drink it because I'm so sensitive to it. I usually get nervous/twitchy for an hour and then crash. Sometimes this happens even with green tea.

An espresso after a big meal is priceless though . .

I am currently trying to reduce my redbull consumption a bit

2 cups a day is pretty much

Redbull is poop. I only ever drink redbull/mountain dew when mixing it with spirits.

Those of you who suffer some afternoon dip would probably benfit from some fresh air, stretch the legs, pint of mineral water and an apple.

You may laugh, but I bet it would work.

I know a lot of people who cannot operate in the morning without a cup of coffee. What the fuck is that all about? LoL

I get a headache when I don't have any. A very unpleasant, "clenchy" feeling. Probably not a good sign

Yeah, i get this as well. My norm is two cups a day, sometimes a third if I want to jump start my creative juices at midnight. I have no desire to kick the habit since drinking it usually leads to greater productivity. I see no downside to it, unless there's a world completely without coffee lurking somewhere in the near future that I'm unprepared for.

A coffee grinder, fresh beans from a local roaster... :sup:

It's not an addiction, it's just too fucking delicious not to have several times a day.

i quit drinking coffee and energy drinks

i still have the occasional mountain dew pitch black (I LOVE GRAPE SODA OKAY)

and i drink a diet dr pepper now and then

mostly just drink tea, a cup of tea a day is delishus. mostly lapsang souchoung lately since my roommate bought a bunch and ended up not liking it.

I also love everything with coffee taste. Chocholates, candy, and ice cream. In Italy I found a cereal with coffee taste, but it was way too sweet. A friend of mine, who bakes his own bread, told me that you could bake breads with hints of coffee. That would be great. :cisfor:

I drink 2 cups of 100% arabica per day. I use a small stove top espresso maker:

^^ The smallest one there. I fill the coffee container right up, so it ends up being probably 2 or 3 shots worth.

Recently I have been noticing twitching head movements while working at my computer. Really worried me one day but I didnt know what was the cause. But I have a feeling its from coffee and stress combined. I think I need to cut down to maybe 1 cup per day, and now that spring is nearly here, I will start exercising more to release stress and tension.

There are no bad side effects to coffee except from extreme peeing.

and the shitting? that's probably the major reason i'm not a total coffee addict right now, i could never understand how everyone is able to put up with this deliberately. i fucking hate the shitting.

i drink about 1.5 liters of black tea per day instead... seems to treat the stomach better.

I don't drink coffee. The only caffeine I get is from the occasional soda that has caffeine in it, but most sodas I drink are non-caffeinated.

I hate the feeling it gives me, being able to sit still and feel my heart rate increase is creepy as shit.

Edit: I do not understand the appeal of tea. It's like drinking flavored water, but the flavor is purposefully hard to taste.

My stomach is hardcore. Chili and coffee every day has turned my stomach into the most masculine stomach there is.

hmm, that's good thing. means you can get your shits done when it's convenient.

i stopped drinking coffee for about a month. notable difference was that i didn't have the urge to have a beer in the evening, i was turning in to a healthy person.. actually yea, i smoked a lot less too.

It feels good to come to work and have some coffee before I begin. I take 20 minutes every morning to have coffee and a cigarete. Doing that with nice people around became sort of a habbit, and that cup of coffee plays a significant role here... makes my day everytime. I rarely make my own coffee though, although nothing beats a cup of turkish coffee with a spliff on saturday mornings.

I gave up caffeine about 3 or 4 years ago and things are much better all around. but I love the taste of very strong bitter coffee. espresso is something I miss dearly so when I go out for a nice meal I usually cap it with a decaf espresso but now I pay the price and will be up for hours and hours. it's amazing how strong you find caffeine after not having it on the reg. what a bitch.

yeah caffeine is bad, i've given it up. But when you order a decaf, sometimes they fuck up the order. So i'm just getting hot chocolates from now on.

i can definitely feel the effects from a decaf espresso and decaf starbucks coffee. and no doubt they can get the order wrong. i suspect that with decaf espresso at restaurants a lot.

BTW, I recently made the switch to buying the whole bean coffee an grinding it myself. So much better! Had a discussion with a self confessed "coffee snob" today and he mentioned a burr grinder, bout to google that shit. Also, anyone have a french press? S'posed to be phenomenal but I've got no idea
