FACT:

if you put the word 'fact' at the end of a statement, it becomes fact. FACT.

Edited by loganfive

the sad fact is, this could very well happen. She has enough money and media appeal to fill clubs with yuppies and sell millions of copies of whatever.

Didn't Traci Lords do this unsuccessfully? I remember a show way back in 95 where Sven Vath, Moby, a satellite showing of FSOL, Freaky Chakra vs Single Cell Orchestra played, Traci Lords started djing and the floor practically cleared. after a few minutes Keoki took over.

Today's capitalist uber-youth are a different story though. She would have the connects to pretty much buy popularity.

Let's not forget that DJ Tiesto is one of the most popular djs on earth.

Let that sink in for a little while, and you will see what I'm at.

I remember jokingly putting up a pic on myspace in the past of paris hilton holding one of my CDs... it was photoshopped of course, but a lot of people believed it and caused mix reactions.

the only pic I can find is in my last fm. http://www.last.fm/music/Asymmetrical+Head/+images/29976777

Is she actually going to DJ or just play a premixed CD and pretend that she's doing anything? I don't see her practicing doing anything. She had a chain of clubs that were supposed to be really trendy and exclusive, one of which opened in my city. It was closed after 2 weeks.

Good point. I always forget there's the electronic music community and then there's poppy EDM. Sure people like Tiesto, Basshunter, Skrillex and Deadmau5 are popular to the Top40 casual music listening crowd...but they aren't taken seriously. The same folks who keep the major labels going (I dunno if I'd call them capitalist uber-youth but I know exactly what you mean)

I also had no idea Traci Lords DJed, I thought she just had a Lords of Acid track named after her.

when I see stuff like this it usually makes me laugh real hard (thanks troon) but then everyone reacts as if it wasn't a very clever joke and I always end up confused.

no youtube videos in the signature, lolz

much love,

squee
