Chrysta Bell and David Lynch - This Train

New album by Lynch and some ludicrously hot woman who I imagine is about to get very famous. Sounds like it's much the same vein as the Julee Cruise / Badalamenti / Twin Peaks stuff of the early '90s but for me at least that is not a bad thing at all.

Sample track is so damn predictable given Lynch's track record. Slow jazzy beat? Check! Super-basic slo-mo distorted blues riffs? Check! Swooning female vox? Check! Suspended-chord synth drones? Check! Sixth-form poetry lyrics about love? CHECK AND MATE MOTHERFUCKER.

Sorry, I'm in a bad mood but this is still shit. And Chrysta Bell comes across as unbelievably vapid in that video interview. Seems like she doesn't have an idea in her head. "Yes David, yes David. Of course David!"

This does not bode well for Crazy Clown Time.

david lynch is a mastermind and hes working with her as much as a producer of like lady gaga or birthday spirears would work with those ladies. the only difference is that david lynch has good frickin ideas.

i liked that video a lot i dont care if she sounds a bit pretentious at the beginning and the music sounds neat.

I don't care if we'ver heard this sort of thing before, I just want quality, which - judging by the 12" - Crazy Clown Time will not deliver.

Yeah I hope this is decent but that sample track bored the shit out of me.

I fully expect Crazy Clown Time to be patchy as hell but I hope he at least tries some interesting new shit on there.

watching the making of interview is really making me doubt Chrysta Bell's... integrity. Seems like Lynch has the ideas, and he's only using her as a sexy puppet.

I don't see a problem with her having no integrity. To be honest, I have some doubts about David's integrity as well. But as long as David will follow CIA's advice, I'm happy.

Even the most batshit/half baked ideas will be intriguing when a sultry, sexy woman has your back. Is this Lynch's secret weapon?
