i got in on a caspian server and played for about 5 minutes before my "connection timed out" and i was booted off the server. loved every minute of it though.

Alright, the beta is over.....

I did come across this article from a guy juxtaposing the beta with the closer-to-finished build he played @ DICE

This is not the case with Battlefield 3 as it is now. The version of Battlefield 3 that I spent hours playing last week has weapons and damage that feel like Battlefield Bad Company 2. This, if you aren't sure, is a good thing. It changes the dynamics of firefights, allowing for each side to take and hold positions, and making flanking and tactical coordination much more viable. The increased player survivability also make vehicles in Battlefield 3 more fair than they would be with the beta's damage models.

He thinks the beta was the worst decision EA/DICE could have made because of all the console glitches, and if the BF3 facebook page is any indication he may be right. I saw numerous console people stating they were cancelling their pre-order because the beta was so glitched.

I thoroughly enjoyed the beta so it will be interesting to see how the final product feels compared to it.

Indeed.

I lost count of the number of times people moaned about lag during the beta (especially on the Caspian Border map that the PC got towards the end), when one of the principal aims of the beta was to stress test servers. I think people expected it to be what they are going to be playing come late October, when it's only an approximation.

You have no idea how many people posted "Ur demo sucks" on the BF facebook page lol.

I actually commended DICE on their facebook page after playing Caspian on the final day and having a lag-free blast.

I've cancelled my preorder. I don't really have the patience for multiplayer games anymore.

Yeah, the comparisons are weird. I also saw some people saying they had longer headshots I only used the sniper rifles with iron sights or 4x scopes to avoid the lighthouse effect, plus I like to be up in the action and not sitting in a bush a mile away from the MCOM

those stats show that this game should be cheaper than 60$, but it won't.

I just hate the BF controls for PS3, if they could be mapped to be the same as COD then I'd buy it. BFBC2 got a bit of a play and it was technically great but I'll just stick to MW3 I think (maybe once I exhaust MW3 I'll give BF3 a whirl)
