Until they put a keyboard on it, I don't want it.

lol slide out keyboards are so lame. get with the program man... the on screen keyboard is perfectly ok for anything you could want to do with it.

Nah man, I'm a copywriter and I write/send serious email. I need a superb Blackberry keyboard (and not one of the cheap models).

Looks like Siri is going to be great at parsing everyday spoken English. Should make driving with an iPhone less sui- and homi- cidal.

livestream has gone down but to sum up so far:

iPhone 4S

Same design as iPhone 4 but with improved antenna

Dual Core A5 Processor (up to 2x faster)

Dual Core Graphics (up to 7x faster)

8MP Camera with 1080p video recording

4G download/upload speeds over 3G networks - is this what they're saying? Pretty cool if true..

I can't believe we're still maxing out at 64 GB of storage these days. That's pretty ridiculous. This is basically saying (a) you don't need storage! it's in the cloud! whilst (b) telling ATT, etc, hey valued pardner, get ready to slip yer data plan dicks up our customers' butts!

lol, iPhones :cisfor:

They max out on the short end for physical storage because everything is moving to the cloud. I don't even really keep MP3's on my phone any more (Amazon Cloud service and Google Music)

Yeah, the point is it's in the Cloud and you're going to pay your carrier out the ass to use that data anywhere you're not covered by wifi.

I have a seriously aging iPhone 3G (not 3GS). I like the iPhone ecosystem and don't want to part with some of my purchased apps, so I'm going to be upgrading, anyway.

Despite the fact that the 3G was rendered pretty slow by the latest available OS update, I think this is the longest I've ever kept a cell, at least since the mid-late 90s. So that's something.

edit: I hate typing in portrait mode, but landscape makes it a pleasant enough experience.

Best Buy bought back my 3G for $67. a 3 year old phone.

How is Sprint's coverage? I used them about 8 years ago and could barely make a call outside of large cities.

I've never had an issue with coverage (except in the emergency room break-room in the basement of the hospital, no signal at all) but there is no local 4G coverage in my town. The closest is in KC but apparently it's slowly spreading towards us. I've had Sprint for going on 4 years now and really like them, plus they have committed to keeping their plans truly unlimited and not going to tiers or anything.

Assuming that every out-of-contract iPhone user isn't planning on switching to Sprint, maybe I'll switch and reap the benefits of an underused network :spiteful:
