anyone hear this yet?

i'm over half way into it and i think it deserves a bit more credit than what critics are giving it. it reminds me of the private press.

I haven't heard a Shadow album since Private Press. I don't think I will check this out either. The man struck gold with Endtroducing and will never top it.

the biggest illusion is yourself

I listened to this at my college radio station. It wasn't bad at all. Quite good at parts, but there are more interesting things out there. Worth checking out if you have extra pocket money, I guess.

I feel a little for the guy as everything he ever does will always be compared to endtroducing. we all have huge expectations due to that album and there is no way to ever top that piece of perfection. this one sounds of course nothing like it and it seems somewhere along the way, he stopped making music that had the soul of his earlier output. there are very few tracks on this album that are remarkable and could be mistaken for any one of the numerous producers who have that "dj shadow sound" (blockhead, rjd2).

Please tell me he doesn't try to get hyphy and/or crunk

I always wonder why he didn't release that stuff under a different name
