Fuck off sirh. Hail to the theif is probably my favourite.

Fuck off yourself! ya little ...

'There There' is probably the only alright/good song on that album, for me, that i enjoyed much at all.

i remember listening to HTTT at the time shortly after it came out and thinking this is pretty crap/boring/wtf are they doing...

The Eraser, In Rainbows, and various other stuffs here 'n there inbetween, were returns to form for Thom/Radiohead, imho.

HTTT might have some of their best individual songs, actually. Sometimes an albums presentation, like tracklisting, other included songs, etc. can ruin it for people, but it has a very consistent vibe. Sounds like they nailed the right arrangements for the songs rather than forcing themselves to stick to a specific style, like TKOL in my opinion. I like it better than King Of Limbs, which feels like much less of a full band effort, even though that might not be the case at all.

I agree there are some great songs on HTTT, it's always just felt overlong to me. Not keen on the electronic tracks on there myself. Go To Sleep though somehow encapuslates everything that I love about Radiohead, great vocals and lyrics and a real urgency to it. I've never given up on the album though and it has improved for me over time, it'll probably all sink in one day.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but it is Radiohead releated. I am selling my Radiohead collection on eBay right now which includes the In Rainbows Limited Edition and TKOL Newspaper Album for cheap!

I didn't really care for the King of Limbs, and Pablo Honey was always kind of "meh" to me (which is absolutely normal for anyone's debut album) but other than that, all of the Radiohead albums, as well as the stuff under Thom's name, has been really important to me in some way or another.

Most importantly, when I was like, 8-14 years old, there was nothing in the world like OK Computer and Kid A to me. Naturally, when I heard Drukqs for the very first time when I was like 15 or so (which was also my very first time with any afx or real electronic music that I actually liked) it was like, the next step in succession from that, and became my life. If I hadn't been for Radiohead, I probably would not be on WATMM. This makes me feel like I am a baby.

Another big one would be that the first time I met my long-term girlfriend irl, she gave me The Eraser for my late birthday present, and it got listened to lots, so that first week of being with her ever is permanently fused with The Eraser in my mind, and vice versa.

anyway, probably should stop disclosing personal information that no one cares about now.

afx isnt the epitome of electronic music.

the "real" bit was in reference to radiohead not being considered real electronic music. I don't consider AFX to be the epitome, he was just the next step for me after Radiohead. I had heard other electronic music, and just not liked it, so that was a dead end for my music discovery. Kid A prepared me musically for Drukqs though, so when I heard Drukqs, I had an open mind about it and didn't just hear it as a bunch of noises, like some of my friends and so on who had classic rock backgrounds, etc.

So after AFX, I was more open minded to other electronic things, and my taste bloomed.

New to Radiohead it's joy for me to find more and more very enjoyable songs in their output. You gotta handle the Yorke lamento voice of course!

I like the Sardines song, yeah. Also the reverse ting, Spinning Plates.

Yeah, a gift I receive 1/2 year before I'll be 40. I'm really glad.. I always thought "Radiohead = Rock band = NEIN, never". Also I decided to spend much more time with classical music. So, as an "extreme", I enjoy early music in small doses, Purcell etc... Dido and Aeneas has great arias. Today I can say, I'm pretty open to many directions and don't care too much, if music is not IDM or not late romantics classical.

No melody in a refrain will ever reach the beauty of this one! You can whistle this the whole day!->

BTW, I can sing at that pitch pretty well meanwhile. When I sing to this, I sing at that pitch. Also in Radiohead "Nude": "...dirty mind is thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii hi hin king..." *glas explodes*

Shit, I love that cover so much. It might have more playtime from me than Nude itself.

as much as i've always loved this cover, something doesn't add up - the speccy 48k isn't capable of polyphony. i have a working one here.

Where I End and You Begin is hugely underrated.

It's like the pissed off spirit of Robert Fripp circa 1979 invaded Radiohead for four minutes.

ok computer to kid a is a clear dividing line between fans of the band. i prefer the kid a era to the okc/bends era, but that is clearly just a taste thing, not one being better than the other because clearly okc is a top album of all time (for me)

edit: clearly

I think seems to be more of a gap between The Bends + OKC than OKC + Kid A in terms of feel/style.

I've liked them since "The Bends" but became a fan after OKC (which is probably my favorite album in general). I still loved every Radiohead album that came out afterwards tho.

Shhh, don't ruin it for me. Either way, those hard drive speakers make it for me. So eerie.

HTTT is my least favorite of their catalog. I would hate them but they are still making good music. Thom's DJ sets make me cringe. I have never seen them live. Everytime I begin to think they are overrated, I listen to them again and find something.
