they aren't relevant cause it's been a few months since they've been in the news?

jesus fucking christ.

No, bellend - they're less relevant since they threatened to expose the Zetas' internal police and government contacts, and the Zetas basically made them back down - hardly the invincible hacker group they thought they were, so (now pay attention, this is where it gets complicated) my statement about them having to attack Farcebook is basically there way of reasserting their perceived dominance in the online-terrorism circles and to the rest of the world.

And the whole Zetas thing was this past week - hardly "a few months". Doesn't news filter up there? Did you get Maple syrup or a beaver tail lodged in your DSL modem? :emotawesomepm9:

wut? i never heard about it.

besides anything involving anonymous and someone reporting their plans is dubious since hardly anyone in the mainstream media understands what anonymous is.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

yeah, apparently one of their members was kidnapped in Mexico and in retaliation, they threatened to expose all the Zetas' government and police contacts (which is just about everyone in Mexican municipal/government service these days), then they mysteriously 'called off' their attack. Shit probably got real on their end when their buddy's cajones were FedExed to some Anon higher up.

read a bit about it now, but "anonymous" in mexico is a joke, just a bunch of kids jumping on the bandwagon. their biggest victory so far is taking down a couple websites than no one visited anyway.

Let's not be coy here - you laid down the attitude (frustrated by my statement or not), and you didn't expect a similar reaction?

Had you made your point clearer, I probably wouldn't have responded with such vitriol. Sorry about that.

If I recall correctly, Anonymous just shut down several large child pornography sites and revealed all of their members to the public just last month. It sounds to me like they've been keeping busy: http://www.forbes.com/sites/mobiledia/2011/10/25/hackers-attack-child-porn-sites/

Also, does anyone stop reading a post as soon as it becomes all caps and contains two consecutive spelling errors?

Since they can't take on the Zetas in Mexico, I guess they have to troll something to prove they're still relevant...

"Anonymous" in one operation aren't necessarily the same Anon members in another operation. it's a name anyone can take and use. it's not like their demands, tactics, motivation and goals have to be consistent.

Los Zetas threatened to hire hackers to backtrace Anonymous members and kill them, hence why they backed out.
