he's discussed in a recent interview (syro era) that he used treatment on the vocal sample in minipops67, specifically to obscure the consonant sounds so that no-one can quite work out what is being said, making it ambiguous for the listener.

basically the Beetles track is an early example of this technique, right when he was doing stuff on macs, changing the pitch of his voice on TCAWC and so on.

I never put two and two together with the vocal manipulations off Syro and the ones off Beetles. But yeah I was under the impression he had JUST started doing that with Syro.
