Buy!

Constructed using old "wooden piano mechanisms, springs and solenoids" taken from old machinery, the analogue sounds evoking (sometime collaborators) Plaid and Aphex emerge.

true dat!

I would buy a recording of the machines interpreting the music, that would be interesting. But the music itself isn't appealing enough for me to buy the ep.

so the EP is not the music performed by the machines?

so it's basically a Felix EP as opposed to a Felix's machines EP???

Surely not

Sorry I didn't express myself right, I meant a visual recording, a DVD.

also, watching the machines isn't going to change the music, is it. it would still be the same music.

but you'd buy it if you could see it? ooooooooooooooooooo kay. lol

I enjoy watching the machines, but I don't really enjoy the music itself. It isn't that hard you know

or what you're saying isn't hard (to understand)?

Yep

i don't know what you mean exactly. but maybe you should make some machines and some music, yourself. i'd like that you know :)

I would love that too, but I'm lacking some key elements (i.e: talent)

talent vs. hard work

you need both. some people work their asses off, but they just don't have much talent at the end of the day.

and some really talented people are lazy are don't/can't (for whatever reason) get much done.

anyway, this EP is good! :)

i think this is pretty cool not only cause the music (which is great in my opinion) but also the "story" behind (well, obviously, a big machine is doing alone all the work)... 5/5 fo' me yo, like, already bought it LOOOOOOOOOOOL

Really interested in this... the concept more than the music I guess. Loved the video.. awesome! But from the samples most of the tracks sound the same. Of course, it's really hard to judge from Bleep's samples which keep stopping and I have to keep clicking to restart. I'm close to buying it.. but just not sure.

Is this an interesting play all the way through, or does it get a bit tiresome as it wears on?

i'll get this. the video was well done imo and it tackeled some of the acousmatic issues that these ragtag "machine" guys (pierre bastien, tok tek) seem to have. yeh, it IS a limited sound-palet, but you gotsta hope that new funding will bring out new sounds, right?

right!

i just think the whole thing is massively, like, 'awesome'. seriously.

ye and it's cool how he's getting picked up like pierre bastien was years back. btw, it seems that tho bastien is more crude/lofi, he has more varied sound set and also more of his own input while playing (tweaking mechanics, trumpet/kalimba/etc) than felix.
