The cops have done well to wait until just the right moment when nobody cares anymore.

It doesn't sound all that crazy, although I read that identified members of the press were put in a safe-zone which was then blocked by a couple of cop-buses.

Yeah nobody cares. No reaction at all from people.

Oh look, it's the middle of the night in most of north america, let's write this off because nobody has yet heard of it.

Apparently a judge has ruled that it's illegal to break-up the occupation in Zucotti park.

This is some fucked up bullshit.

Man, I wish I could be out there getting tear gassed, unfortunately I have to work at a job so I can get paid enough money to watch this stuff on TV and on the internet.

Bloomberg said he heard about the judges order but didn't see it, so he didn't follow it.

Also a no fly zone was put in place overheard, so no news choppers could get shots of what was going on.

Reporters arriving at the scene were put into a barricaded area 2 blocks away, keeping them from covering the eviction.

Multiple reports from journalists already on the scene that police were violent with them, including ripping reports press badges off, as well as some reporters being arrested.

Ok, so we tried a decentralized protest movement. Now its time for revolutionary discipline, something that has sadly been lacking from these movements.

not only that, but the idea of a leaderless movement falls apart sooner or later. its nice to go for these naive anarchist dreams (hell, id love for everyone to intrinsically pursue a universal just society), but the people that know what the fuck they are talking about, and HOW to talk about it should step up and take rein.

in all seriousness, these raids are outlandish. i have studying for midterms to do atm, but i am intrigued to see what happens throughout the day and into the next weeks.

dont get me wrong, I support a lot of the main ideas proposed by the more organized elements of the occupy movement (no private funding for elected officials, more transparency, etc.), but I think its becoming evident that if you want change at this point, more extreme and organized elements need to organize...Im not talkin about extremism in sense that we should reform the Weather Underground or some ridiculous nonsense like that. But we want an American Revolution, not a French Revolution...we want the Black Panthers, not the Weather Underground, organization and intimidation through non-violent means and through strong, knowledgable leadership.
