plaid Founded

Either Plaid guys' sound system and/or ears is broken, or mine are. Founded sounds like an otherwise nice and beautiful track played back by a kid going wild with a pitch slider, almost every sound is off-tune and dissonant. I can't believe that nobody commented on this track yet. Your opinions?

hmmm, i need to listen to it again., never remember track names too well. to put them to tracks, i mean.

The only thing I don't like about that track is the completely unnecessary guitar string squeaks that just make it sound even more obviously fake.

i like that about it. just shows you don't need any instruments at all really, and anything can be made, everything is possible (aslong as you have a computer, at least).

isn't is very obvious that they did it on purpose? to give the track some feeling=??,,, a feeling like dizzyness or being lost... and i quite like how this is being eased with the vocals that start at 1:28...

i mean how can someone think, they played the wrong notes and just didnt know about it?? ....wow....

Dunno about all that "kid going wild with a pitch slider" stuff but it does have a lower recording compared to the rest of the album... vinyl anyway.

wow i think it s one of the best tracks on Scintilli, regarding "too" the production/recording quality and i really cant see why people find wrongs on it....it s a very unique track isnt it? :S ..hm well ,,, maybe it sometimes reminds me of Yimino's squeeze me, as in rhythm,, but its most probably cause i m quite unaware and ignorant about most of the electronic music going on....

it s a great track! and those "pitch slides" are definitely intentional. how can someone assume they hit the wrong notes?? these guys have not missed a single "note" for how many, 20 years?? listen to tender hooks again, if you dont believe me, every single note there seems so random but theyre definitely the "very right ones" ...

Tender Hooks actually makes perfect sense after a couple of listens, nothing random about it. Founded is still manual emergency siren soundtrack.

I dunno, the fake guitar just sounds dinky imo. They've obviously included real guitar in their tracks before, why not this time? It would have sounded so much better with a real acoustic guitar.

100% agree. "wrong notes"? i really don't understand where you are coming from. but to each his own.

I think the out-of-tune-ness gives the song its charm, and the buildup in the last 45 seconds of the track is just stunningly beautiful. Definitely my current favourite.

i invented "out-of-tune-ness". i also invented "wrong notes".

i also remember sirch inventing "similar-ey".. pure brilliance!

Founded is one of my favorite on the albums, I don't understand the complaint either.

It's an incredible track, very well crafted - a lot of layers going on. Scintilli overall has grown on me a lot. I remember playing Founded the first couple of times and I was immediately disinterested... now it strikes me as one of their best tracks yet.
