Turkey for President:

"I am on this account not displeased that the Figure is not known as a Bald Eagle, but looks more like a Turkey. For in Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America... He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage, and would not hesitate to attack a Grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his Farm Yard with a red Coat on. " - BENNY FRANK FRANK

Though I am also partial to the Osprey.

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

They are extremely excellent contenders. The movement a Gos Hawk in this video is nothing short of amazing:

LAMMERGEIER

now that's a bird, although it looks a bit too psycho to be an elite killer like the bad ass bald eagle

Lammergeier mainly eats dead animals, and specializes in bone cracking. It picks up the bone and cracks it by throwing it from the heights. It then eats what is inside the bone. Although big and powerful enough to kill a small goat, his physique is not built for killing large prey.

Peregrine Falcon is the real motherfucker. The fastest bird on the planet can reach speeds at 360km/h when diving onto its prey and has also the fastest level flight. Although small, it can catch his prey in flight with incredible maneuvering. Also the goshawk is a flight ace too. It is known for his outstanding eyes. He can fly between narrow twigs very fast, and can catch a prey even when hidden inside dense bush. There is also a species of vultures that can reach heights of mroe than 30.000 ft. It is a Rüppell's Vulture. It has uniquely evolved lungs and breathing which can allow him to reach such heights. Owl feature special flying feathers that reduce the noise of air flowing around them, their vision allows them to see in complete darkness and their neck can rotate in 300°. Birds are just awesome.

The face of owls (or plumage on its face) is parabolic so it can hear better too.
