Guest yikes
i hate to say it but a dedicated "s' series akai makes drums sound a lot better than a computer to my ear. no matter what I do[stereo sampling, edited wavs, plug ins,eq,compression etc] the computer drums don't have as much balls, punch, grit or depth as the drums coming out of an akai. the computer sounds great and has it's own thing but i like drums from a real sampler Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/70152-atari-stcommordore-64-sidym-thread-pics-and-tunes/page/2/#findComment-1701694 Share on other sites

I take it you've tried bitcrushing the samples slightly? Especially if you're using an S950, it's 12-bit, so if you want your computer to emulate that sound, you should somehow reduce the quality to that amount. Guest yikes
the only solution that works is sampling the drums into the akai then slam them into the computer Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/70152-atari-stcommordore-64-sidym-thread-pics-and-tunes/page/2/#findComment-1701903 Share on other sites
Guest Promo
Yeah I have to say bitcrushing drums gives them a real grit and its especially good if you're making like 8-bit type of tune. Guest Promo
Sorry to bump up an old topic but I was just wondering if anyone has got or used the Mssiah cartridge and if so what their experiences were of it. Cheers. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/70152-atari-stcommordore-64-sidym-thread-pics-and-tunes/page/2/#findComment-1829459 Share on other sites
