I am never sure where the line is on dnb, jungle, and hardcore, so these are probably all wrong. oh well.

I find... hardcore is pre-93 (with very few exceptions), drum and bass is the most all-encompassing term. I personally classify all jungle as dnb but not all dnb as jungle. Jungle to me is flared out, creative drum programming, using the familiar loops we all know and love and erring on the side of ragga (reggae-influenced jungle) with less (but not devoid of) hip-hop stylings.

I think a lot of it is a subjective call.

I would say that that track I posted "Pranksters" by DJ Zinc is a perfect example of straddling that line. At first thought, I say dnb, but then after a second or two, I think jungle.

The other track I posted, "Come On" by Souljah, I would technically classify as dnb. Although, I would've ok with calling it "jungle".

I don't think anyone should give a fuck if you use either term loosely... with the exception of someone like Grooverider or one of the other originators. I'm curious what they would think, actually.

Edit

I definitely don't consider anything that is 2-step "jungle". Even the 2-steppier Congo Natty stuff.
