bloodline season 2 - weak and disappointing

lady dynamite: watched the pilot and its a lot better than i hoped

downton abbey - around season 1 episode 5 and not sure about it. it gets better, right?

to me, bloodline around the end of season 1 just colapsed. wont even bother with season 2

Downtown abbey gets better. Must admit I listen to the whole show high on MXE which made for the perfect combination lol

I was very cautious about Penny dreadful, but two seasons in it's turned out pretty amazing. Great dialogue writing most of all.

I think I like Lady Dynamite.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Not totally terrible, but very Americanized, they really ramped up the zaniness in this version, akin to Lupin III / FLCL. A few notable actors doing the voices, Tyler Labine as the fat Voltron pilot, and Rhys Darby as the mustached "British Guy" alien type character, even Steven Yeun from Walking Dead is in it.

I love Will Arnett (huge Arrested Development and Bojack fan) but didn't like the show either. Out of Flaked, Love and Master Of None (can't help considering these 3 shows as a sort of pack of Netflix-produced ones for 30 something-ers like me), M.O.N. is the only one I've truly enjoyed.

Still on an Archer binge, watching the episodes over and over again. Feels like I'm a kid/teen over again, worning out my Simpsons VHS tapes.

Agreed, I loved Master of None, and was instantly turned off by Love and Flaked. Flaked seemed especially bad, though I only watched the 1st episode. Love I also watched just the 1st ep and it had some funny moments, but the whole tone was just too Judd Apatow for me, I can't stand 90% of the stuff that guy touches.

Lately I've been self-medicating with Bob Ross. Feels good, man.

^^ cannot wait. it's an interesting place to start off season 2 in the pablo story because it's basically him being hunted by los pepes and the rest of the cartel turns against him. i can't imagine how they're going to stretch that out into an entire season unless-

they decide to explore another drug lord operating around the same time eg. fabito

Binge watching Fargo, question: how the hell can they find the suitcase of money in 1987, when the movie took place the same year? Yeah those buried suitcases are just so easy to find out in the middle of frozen nowhere!

Halfway through Louie S05. Very good, and enjoying it. S04's surrealness and long form storytelling are top tier still, though. See "Into the Woods" pt. 1 and 2.

Binge watched Orange is the New Black Season 4 - SO much better than the previous season. The various plots going on work well together and interact when needed, but it all felt like it was going somewhere, culminating in the finale. The representation of social issues range from fairly interesting to as subtle as a brick to the face though... I mean, the neo-nazis act like they fell out of a Saturday morning cartoon for adults, but the finale shows something we've seen far too often in the news recently with no easy answers.

Also bloody season cliffhanger endings.

Stoked to watch OA II. The movement thing never bothered me, anyone familiar with Druidic studies will recognize the importance of movement to get to higher planes.

it's a fucking awful show when it comes to artistic and dramatic qualities. the plotlines (those flashbacks especially), the dialogues and most of the characters are just cartoons, the acting is mostly terrible (that black "camp" probably made me more racist than i thought i was). but nevertheless it's important in its portrayal of how the contemporary american prison works, the effects of the privatizations and the interaction of the many various elements like management, guards, inmates and non human actors as well. in that regard it seems like it's well researched. and as blunt and stupid as it is, its portrayal of specifically female gender issues is probably important as well in the long run, it does go to places i never saw other media things go.

i watch it every night with your son.

The preacher has been kind of meh these last two episodes, maybe my expectations are too high...

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.
