Is the Eccleston season of Doctor Who worth watching? I liked the TV movie preceding it, and the 50th anniversary special with the War Doctor.

Rewatching Limmy's Show, not sure I'll ever tire of it.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

BBC mockumentary comedy series called People Just Do Nothing.
It follows a little group of chavs from Brentford who run a pirate radio station for oldskool uk garage and jungle.

Totally fucking rips off loads of the office with brentisms all over the place but it's really fucking funny.
I'm a bit late to the show. It's already on season 3 but there aint many episodes in a season. I watched them all last night.

I dunno how well it would translate across the pond but anyone familiar with the scene will find it really funny.

i thought this show was going to be about sex in strange places but it's actually about how different societies around the world deal with (or alienate) sex workers. each episode is dedicated to a region: turkey, brasil and russia.

despite the hosts best attempts at being sympathetic to the prostitutes and their clients, there was still a strange patronising tone to the whole show eg. when she goes outside some brothel in turkey and is asking all the men why they go there or the episode in brasil when she's interviewing transsexual prostitutes in rio and when one obviously has a 'very bad encounter' she asks her "so how was it?"

i guess the fact that she left with a man and returned only minutes later with tears running down her face wasn't a big enough clue that it wasn't a good time.

i like the host though, just not in a professional way (if you know what i mean)

re-People Just Do Nothing, it treads that fine line between patronizing snobbery and some proper lols fairly succinctly, even if it doesnt always get it right every episode. The young cast/writers satirizes the whole MC/DJ realm with too many acute observations to list here & almost takes you back to the early KISS FM days with Paul T-T-T-T-Trouble Anderson et al.

The Great British Menu - fuck off please, complete BBC Tristram-guff overload. Pureed lettuce? Cant lettuce just be mate? My kid bro will occasionally blast em on a griddle which kinda works, but........

Also, its a bad omen when even advanced telly avoidance negates knowing that The Great British Bake Off is switching to C4. Sue Perkins is a bit of gay crush doe, so hypocrisy all round.

i can understand pureeing the more bitter lettuces maybe for a soup, but yes it does sound rather silly. I think cooking took a wrong turn when they started making emulsions containing odd ingredients pureed that they drizzle over carefully stacked towers on the diner's plate.

A member of the non sequitairiate.

Atlanta - Thoroughly enjoyed this series so far. We've seen similar themes explored before, but it's done right. Nice mix of drama and comedy. I'll give it a few more episodes before I deem it my favorite new show, but it's trending that way.

I had never seen or heard of her before reading this thread. Looking at her I thought she must be quite posh. Turns out she's really not at all. She doesn't sound it anyway. Very doable but she doesn't fit that perfect middle ground between posh and chav that I require in women who are both out of my reach and out of my league. You can tell that she is one proper dirty little wrongen though. hmm..

after a good 3 ep run mr. robot borrows in its own ass again with contrived mystery building and forced induction of confusion..

of course we're not going to reveal you if elliot's sis/that guy got killed, of course we're not going to reveal the whole convo of angela and the tranny chinaguy, of course we're going to slap even more rediciouls elliot psych issues. so frustrating.

Pretty much how I felt. I did enjoy the interrogation scene with that little girl though.

This season of Mr. Robot reminds me of Deal or No Deal in the sense that if you cut out all the fluff and reduced it down to the actual meat, you get a 2 min episode.

Elliot is very clever but massively mental. I get it. Move it along now please.

now you can tell why i like her in a very "non professional" manner.

she has a series called 'stacey dooley investigates' with titles like 'sex, stag and prague' or 'europe's dirty drug secret' or 'sex trafficking in cambodia'

she obviously enjoys her job  :cat:
