Guest arbee
it's nice to see moog giving us more sub-1K products. this seems like a nice way to do some "moog bass"... but it's not for me as I already have my slim phatty and love it to death. enki
If this Minitaur had ADSR envelopes and PWM I'd be all over it. What I'd like to see is a Slim Phatty Old School with better knobs and more of 'em. I know it will never happen, so that's why I'm building up the ol' modular. Two VCOs, though. i guess, but they got around this on the dark energy with the extensive modulation options - allowing you to beef up the single VCO...the lack of dual VCOs is not a major problem on the DE imo Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide BCM's signature Hide all signatures Bandcamp | Spotify | SoundCloud | Amazon | Apple Music | YouTube | YouTube Music | Deezer | Google Play Music Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/70889-new-analogue-moog-bass-synth/page/2/#findComment-1727076 Share on other sites

I'm sure it sounds great but there is nothing new here. A bit unimaginative IMO. Doing a pretty neat one trick, no doubt. But for $600... I dunno. Moog stuff is always good but hefty on the price tag. yeah, funny to hear that in this forum. AFX is a one trick pony too? Audioblysk
Never said it was expensive and I said it sounds nice, but this synth is not breaking any new ground, I'd rather just double the price and grab a proper moog w/keys. Guest Dogboy73
I'm pretty stoked about this. A sub £500 synth from Moog? It's a simple little synth but that's not a bad thing. I don't mind a bit of limitation. Good for helping you push the thing. But the big thing that has got me excited about this one is that every parameter can be controlled via MIDI. That's going to make it an interesting little beast in a computer set-up. I recently bought the Lemur App for my iPad. Imagine some of the things you could do controlling the Minitaur from that via MIDI? Fantastic. I don't know of another analogue monosynth that has this kind of MIDI support. I can't wait for this. As long as the sound lives up to expectations I'm in Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/70889-new-analogue-moog-bass-synth/page/2/#findComment-1727691 Share on other sites

There are loads of smaller companies making affordable analogue synths. Nice to see some of the bigger players getting onboard. tokn
This one looks tasty. Less expensive... well, for me, it's far to expensive for a thing with which I mostly can only do a nice Bass-sound. Still I would love to have it. Anyway a question for older members here: Maybe there is already a thread where you talk about different synthesizer types like the Dark Energy or the MICROZWERG stuff, so I don't need to open one? Sorry. i've owned a few moog's (with keys) before. - Prodigy, Opus 3, micromoog. and the knobs fall off, the keys fall apart and the sound is always temperamental. while it is true what you say, it will just be good/nice/fun to have a brand new moog synth (for less than a grand, as people have said already). i'm looking forward to playing around with 1. i'm sure it'll be a lot of fun and will sound very nice and fphat! bring on the minitaur. Guest kokeboka
The Moog website says it's due to be launched by Spring - does anyone have any idea about a more specific launch date? I'm curious to try it out and get feedback from people owning one of these.
