As if there weren't enough reasons to hate on Pitchfork, they initially shat on it with their review, and instead of admitting the error of their ways decided to big up the Sepalcure album - which is still good, but not to the extent Room(s) is - to save face.

The reviewer kind of apologized, he admitted he ranked it too low in the Sepalcure http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/16062-sepalcure/ I've never seen that before on pitchfork.

.

they did this for BOC too

FUCK i realized just as I hit submit that I forgot to vote for Rustie - Glass Swords.

I haven't been this psyched about an album, in addition to Black Up by Shabazz Palaces, in years - 2 amazing albums.

Guess I need to go back and listen to Rooms more because I can't seem to grasp how it's at number one. 2011 the year of Machinedrum I guess right... Really guys this shit over Vibert, Monolith, NHKyz, and it makes me sad to mention even Hecker?

I think Skrillex should of made it onto the list just so people can be as confused as I feel atm.

Edit because I spelt fucking NHKyz wrong :nelson:

So basically Rustie would be in at least 5th place if all the people who liked the album had remembered to vote for it.

Must be all the ritalin and hours spent playing final fantasy!!

Not enough votes for Mitch Murder. Rustie was good for the 1st few listens, but there is no longevity there at all in my opinion. Room(s) is tops, glad to see it appreciated. His older work does not hold a candle to that release. It's going to be hard for him to top it.

I want Tim Hecker to beat Machinedrum. Go!

sad that it has come to that

Autechre Rule - Queen are Shite

Finally listening to Ravedeath, and it is good, but not perfect album/#1 album of 2011 material for me. It reminds me of V/Vm's "The Death of Rave" (not just in title) with some other instruments thrown in occasionally, some of which totally ruin it for me. Hatred of Music I & II would be perfect if they were more abstract.

I am still happy with what I voted for.

Guest Araungzeb

The Advisory Circle - As The Crow Flies (If I could vote for this three times I would)

PJ Harvey - Let England Shake

Bibio - Mind Bokeh

Panda Bear - Tomboy

Rustie - Glass Swords

I didn't understand Machinedrum when Resident Advisor starting hyping it and I still don't, but I guess I'll give ti another listen since I must be missing something...

I'm a big Tim Hecker fan.

But I would argue that Ravedeath, 1972 is his weakest effort so far. But I still voted for it.

Also.. I think 2011 was pretty underwelming. Lots of decent releases. But nothing particularly mindblowing. Well.. Maybe The Caretaker's album.

i was floored by andy stott. completely floored.

top album of 2011 would have to be Belong-Common Era though. And N-Plants.

I think Dimlite is the most crazy talented producer right now as far as not following any trends. On a Clark level.

Dave Monolith - best comeback from a first wave of mostly negative reviews ??

The negs may be a vocal minority.
