I definitely like this release better than Cubist Reggae. Sound's like his softer side on this one?

Reminds me a bit of Horsey Noises in the overall scheme and sound palette. I have absolutely no problem with this as that EP is fantastic and these sound great so far.

just listened. this is really good stuff!

sounds pretty terrible to me to be honest. the tracks are all over the place, but yet somehow, it's just kind of boring, and it doesnt really go anywhere.The breaks sound really weak, and some of the melodies/patterns he uses sound totally forced and uninspired.

Cool, I was wondering what he was doing these times. The man used to release more often. But except from Horsey Noises which I loved and Cubist Reggae which I didn't really listen to I was quite disappointed by the latest releases. Will listen to that one later.

Well, it's certainly not breaking any new stylistic ground for Snares like the Cubist Reggae EP did, but I also get the feeling that wasn't the point with 'Affectionate'...

I found it to be a fun listen; Venetian Snares, more than almost any other electronic musician, is a guy whose seemingly ridiculous personality infects all of his productions. After I watched videos of him being interviewed it didn't surprise me at all how sarcastic and silly he was because his musical aesthetic had been prepping me for the reveal years in advance!

Lesbians2 is nice. The melodies remind me a bit of the tuss somehow

Exactly my thoughts ahah, but I don't think his personality is ridiculous (i don't know him personally) i think of him as a fun and sometimes emotional viking.

first listen: ok so i was hoping for something more futurstic like cubust ragga.

cool bits for sure tho, thought it was last steppy at times, aphexian (drukqs), not bad for a birthday gift.

mr funk is can be such a warrior poet however. unpolished my WITBOAS copy the other day, wow..
