Things Rich should use at his concerts

Recommended Posts

I stumbled across this cool web app that turns pictures into spheres. Nothing new, but it also creates depth. The darker the part of a picture is, the deeper it goes into the sphere, and the lighter a part of the picture is, the farther it pops out.

Here, play with it yourself:

I started putting in more and more images, and I eventually put in a picture of ICBYD, and it translates perfectly, buck-teeth and all. See my avatar.

your picture looks very much like things I've already seen at his shows ;) (particularly around 2009). Nowdays its mostly The Afx Logo melting in a wash of colours at the start, followed off by cryptic messages and ASCII characters galore, before then the cameras are out and the images of the text meld to the images of the crowd dancing in real time to the tunes.... then it gets on and starts making landscapes out of peoples faces

I've been meaning to ask - any idea what software or at least what kind of software he uses for that? I'm really into that mapping stuff.

identical aphex twin version performing side by side with the real version. perfectly constructed costume and makeup. then at a specified moment after dipping down snatch another records album or fidget with gear or whatever, a wax doll or

some type of mechanical human doll is secretly put in the place of the twin, after which it is then remote detonated in full view of the audience, coinciding with a particular audio crescendo. if the crowd was not confused enough by the duplicate then they would surly be shocked by the explosion. at this point a third twin would replace the one that had been destroyed. each show would be a unique guess game of what might happen based on similar or different themes

best bet would be to ask Weirdcore ;) (like he'd respond on how he makes what he makes)

would love to know as well, he also has a Kinect with some cool homemade mods on it (one where it maps a 3d Environment from a 2d image... so usually he'll be morphed into lots of cool shapes and colours at some point and it moves about impromptu around this virtual space it creates...)

midgets and female body-builders, now that'd be trippy, especially if gurning/flexing up on the big screen

also put lots of pictures of hot chicks, but remove the face and insert random fucked up aphex images, then morph the image, that'd be great at an Aphex gig

In one show an excessive amount of twins should slowly populate the stage and then the audience itself. At the end of the final track, one will explode, instantly killing all of the people who were uncomfortably situated around it. This will be a game changer, making the guessing game not a question of what will happen, but who will die next.
