Silent Member
It's a shame they started handing out awards to Scorsese like there's no tomorrow now that his movies aren't good any more. I was worried it was going to be a Hugo blowout early in the ceremony. I actually enjoyed watching it a lot more than I expected: Crystal was cheesy but competent (though last year was so fucking awkward and strange it was funny imo), the Memorial bit was tasteful and the woman who sang did a lovely job, Cirque de Soleil was ridiculous as usual, Bret McKenzie won an Oscar for "Man or Muppet"... To top it all off, on a very random note, William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg won for best animated short. The former is a book illustrator I liked as a kid (my Mom was a huge fan, even ran a geocities fan page back in the late 90s) who has been dabbling as a producer and writer for films lately, so seeing him win was pretty cool.
