Hah, I read this in Sam the Eagle's voice. And the article wasn't great, the ending is lame as fuck and quite facepalm-worthy. Still had some interesting anecdotes for me, but yeah the guy was clearly a raging troll. I'm less and less shocked that's he croaked at 43 and that other pundits are dying from aneurysms. I wouldn't know much about him if it wasn't for a Wired article I read on him awhile back. Limbaugh's outdone already today in being an asshole (just google news search him if you're curious, I don't even want to share it here). Nothing's gonna change in the political commentary community and that's the real kicker. Spin doctors don't give a shit.

On a somewhat related note, I broke my impressive break from discussing politics with my dad, which is basically futile and unpleasant discussion between brickwalls, and got in a really nasty shouting match on the phone. I'm angry, sad, and pissed off that it's come to this. I'm taking a break from even paying attention to any of this shit. I will check the news in the morning to stay informed then go off to work or other diversions. When I declare that the whole country has gone insane, it's nothing new to many if not most WATMMers. But for the record, I'm a moderate. Hell, I'll come out of the closet and admit I voted for McCain in 2008. I usually embrace cold, hard pragmatism and cynical solutions to the various liberal or libertarian ideals I hold, and I can't even find those in current political discourse. That's how fucked things are.
