Maybe I should be more specific. What if you have type 1 bipolar disorder, and the iteration of your personality takes two forms: 1 when you are in a regular mood (1 personality) and the other when you are having a manic episode (2nd personality)? Because the definition of personality is (according to dictionary.com) "the visible aspect of one's character as it impresses others", these two different states in bipolar disorder by definition constitute different personalities.

So actually, yes, it is bipolar disorder. :)

Bipolar disorder doesn't cause memory loss between states. You could, theoretically, actually have different accounts on here and not know it with dissociative identity disorder.
