Songs that bring you to tears

Do you guys have songs that you like so much that you have literally cried while listening to them?

End of Life Entertainment Scenario #1 does this for me almost every time at around 3:30, when it changes.

I've also gotten this from Animal Collective's untitled track from their first album, as well as a few others.

edit:

ha, the title of this thread sounds really dumb

ub40 version makes me want to cry for a whole different reason.

triachus

yelling AAAA really straings the voice, and the tiny h really represents the struggle and hardship a vocal chord must endure for yelling AAAA

Fukq guys

I was going to post this!

I can't think of anything else. I know there's another that Rhombix brought up in another thread, or irc, or something.

"Laura's Theme" from Twin Peaks. A lot of the music Lynch uses can do that to me... the song the lady sings at Silencio in Mulholland Dr... the song at the beginning of Inland Empire as well.

again, i don't really hate skrillex as much as i hate the people that think that sort of music has any sort of integrity. i try to be open minded, and a lot of the time i employ a "well, each to his/her own" attitude towards personal preferences such as music taste and who knows, maybe it is original in its own way, sorta like a drawing by an autistic kid.

I enjoyed it the first time I heard it on the radio...but when I watched the video I was floored.

Love that song. Have you heard the sample source? It was in a FACT Mix last year and it took me by complete surprise - it's quite a generous sample, but UNKLE and Yorke still managed to flip it into something amazing.

I teared up when I heard this live...

One of the few songs that made me cry the first time I heard it. I find singer-songwriter stuff very hard to get into, but Townes Van Zandt appealed to me immediately. It's hard not to get lost in his songs.

I know it's been overused as hell, but Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah cover will always give me chills. My wife pointed me to this live recording of it I hadn't heard before.

Oh, and lastly, my favorite song ever.

Yeah, Lynch is cool like that. Can't remember the song from the beginning of Inland Empire, though.

He seems to have an obsession with female singers on stages. I don't think I've seen a single Lynch production without at least one woman singing on a stage scene.

edit:

I guess the scene in Mulholland Dr. wasn't on a stage, but it still counts.
