"Fucking Florida."

Patternoverlap, to clarify I was listing examples of typical bitching done by Americans against regions and states. I'm from Texas, I know what it's like to have people make assumptions. Florida is often singled out (i.e. having its own topic on Fark), hence my lame comment. I have personally have nothing against Florida or it's residents or any other state or region myself. And man do I envy your state's beaches...and your fucking rocket towers. We just have more of NASA's admin buildings.

I apologize, I should have made my context more clear. I was agreeing with most of the criticisms of Florida as they tend to be accurate. Florida is geographically a beautiful state, but the people kind of ruin it for the most part. I'm also from Texas *high five* and have family all over that state. I will say that the middle of florida is a bizarre and fascinating place that doesn't often get discussed, besides Orlando/Disneyworld.

I've said it before, I'll say it again... 'Merica can we just cut the bullshit with the Occupy Movements and such and get rid of these assclowns in and running for office with an armed revolution already?

^Right on. I almost lived there myself as a USAF dependent. I'd like to visit more of it, I've only been to Pensacola and Miami.

Ah yes, quite a bit of military presence here as well. There's a huge Navy base 10 minutes away from where I live. Definitely visit the Keys and the Everglades. Sarasota is a pretty cool place. Really just take the highway up through the middle of the state and stop and look at all of the really weird tourist spots. Quite a few really nice state parks as well.

The problem is that we've all been busted up into these special interest groups and then set against one another, so getting everyone together and agreeing to do anything like that would be basically impossible.

please can we just have a peaceful civil war where we give 5 years for everybody to move to the coasts (blue america) or inland (red america). i'd be part of the group that would have to move, but so be it. fuck the red states, let them live in squalor and backwardness.

it wouldn't work like that. The red states would utterly destroy us in a civil war...they have spent years in the army, local militia, etc.

no? i don't know what that means? the physical similarities? Obama is racist? Or maybe just sympathetic to the death of someone that is ethnically similar?

i guess im dumb. I don't get how that statement "singled out" anything.

!? He didn't single out anything. Not anything other than his sympathy with the parents.

The only factor which could make it seem he's singling out racist tendencies, imo, is that it's pretty unique for a president to address an incident like this in such a personal way. And "incident like this" meaning a black kid killed by some idiot with no apparent reason.

This deep racist undercurrent in America is a given (part of history) and hasn't got anything to do with Obama. The only thing Obama implicitly does, just by being president and showing sympathy, is healing these deep wounds which have been there for many generations. The man is doing his job. The fact that racism is being brought up, says more about the history of the US than about Obama.

sorry for bad grammar, etc

edit: nevermind. confusion is everywhere... O_o

there's this new single out, I've heard....

Edited by goDel

its not the sentiment of the past statements that Im confused about, its the grammar...I thought Obama said that quote, not Zimmerman...

So Obama said if he'd had a son, he'd look like Trayvon. Then some people cry about positive racism (because the are crybabies). Meanwhile, Santorum drops a fart in one of his speeches (what's new?).

Now, vasio drops a quote (yes, watmm directly relates to the international platform of current events):

  Quote
"If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon."

Nuff said.

Meaning whatever the hell he thinks it means. I'm lost, tbh.MultiQuote

i have never been more confused in a watmm thread than in this one. are we arguing, or agreeing? If either is the case, what are we talking about exactly?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again . . the people who would lead such a coup are exactly not who I would want to be governed by. Good luck dissenting with their government . .
