I was refering more to the level of hysteria and mod-capping on the funny pictures threads/nice tits thread , its frustratingly/ridiculously sanitised . I was never even a big fan of these threads but i just use these threads as an example of the glee at which moderation is used sometimes to step in and make nefarious something so slight.

If you're at uni, i would use basic intuition skills to avoid threads you think may cause offense/embarrasment. It's fucking simple, just put a NSFW tag in the header of the funny pictures thread so you'll know not to browse it in public places to save embarrasment.

Nope, the 'NSFW' mentality of moderation on this site was causing me to lose interest, not the tags themselves.

The second point, it has soo many facets and tangents I don't have the time to go into now, i need milk and cigs, but basically you cant do anything about it, people are sometimes going to be ignorant to guidelines and will act like idiots. All you can do is try and curb said problem with guidelines (NSFW tags in headers/threads) and gentle moderation and warnings. Personally, seeing a pair of tits on a monitor in a public place, does not cause me offense, but thats just my opinion, it doesnt leave me mentally scarred, maybe im not looking at them the right way.
