His voice sounds like a fish giving birth to a cow.

again, i don't really hate skrillex as much as i hate the people that think that sort of music has any sort of integrity. i try to be open minded, and a lot of the time i employ a "well, each to his/her own" attitude towards personal preferences such as music taste and who knows, maybe it is original in its own way, sorta like a drawing by an autistic kid.

I like it a lot, and it doesn't sounds like aphex twin

is "IDM" seen from another angle, that of arty rock

richard has made some jokes about it, but they were that, just jokes

Do you have links?

Aphex Twin Ripped off Radiohead, he says he doesn't like rock music, then how come "I care because you do" sounds exactly like Kid A? AFX listened to it and said "i can remove the vocals and con idm nerds".

I'm saying Aphex Twin owns a lot to Radiohead. If you had an educated hearing like i do you would notice the Analord Series is pretty much a cover of OK computer and Hail to the Chief.

Listen ..

now listen to this ..

same song.

Shit, I've known both songs but never really saw the connections between them.

The tempo is same, it's in the key of F, and the synth is almost the same.

I've known that Radiohead had inspiration from Aphex but Analord was released after Hail To The Thief.

Richard is a little crazy or a little cocky?

such an overrated album. how 30 seconds of filtered pattern with a four note polyrhythmic "glitch" equals IDM is completely fucking beyond me.

Guest RadarJammer

This album was the final packaged CD experience I had. Kid A nicely bridged the gap between borders books CD section and the Napster era. Fuck this kid made every average listener feel like an early hipster douche once they found out it was EVERYONES favorite album for 2 weeks.

It wasn't just Aphex or BoC. It doesn't sound like Aphex at all. Yorke's mentioned on multiple occasions he listened to and DJ'd Warp albums multiple times. No one every talks about the jazz or krautrock influence also brought in by Greenwood and the others (at least in these kind of threads). Instead everyone just points to "Idioteque" and goes "DERP IDM AND ROCK MUSIC" - and hell, that song samples a 70s computer music LP Greenwood randomly bought. The album is still more prog and post-rock sounding than any electronic music genre.

Thank god this thread is getting trolled for my entertainment, pretty sure this has been covered over and over again. Fuck, I think there's been a thread just about the Pitchfork review of Kid A.

And for the record, yes I love the album. I like Amnesiac a lot more though and play In Rainbows more than both.

Hail to the Thief was my fave Radiohead album to be honest, but I love some o' the tracks on this one.

and Pyramid Song is my favorite track of theirs.

And The Bends is my favorite early-era album. I never seem to see eye to eye with most Radiohead fans when it comes to 'favorites'.

Kid A is awesome.

I had never seen a shooting star before. :sorcerer: Wizards cap, etc. etc.

They reached a peak with OK Computer, basically started over, and then reached some more peaks after that. Not too many bands do that. Optimistic through Motion Picture Soundtrack is a totally freaking sweet run of songs.
