Umm this is an experiment - so it's difficult to say whether or not it's worth keeping around without giving it a shot.

Also, if I recall correctly, the chat module was a paid add-on.

I have my doubts about it lasting (most shoutboxes I find are a waste of space) but you never know - perhaps some of the clever folk here will find a way to make it utterly invaluable.

Fair enough. Just thought it was funny considering that one of the reasons that chatmm was axed was supposedly because of monetary issues. As a person that was fond of chatmm, I think I'm allowed to harbour a certain feeling of 'wtf' over this.

Yes, just an experiment, and yes, it's free - I even considered bringing back CHATMM, but again, that cost money. It might come back though. We'll see.

20 or 25 USD annually.

I'm really not a fan of shoutboxes myself, but thought it might be nice to try and see what the response/reaction is.

Right now, I'm looking at the costs associated with bringing the Downloads back, permanently and accessible via the forum, and allow submissions. Stay tuned.

Well, now that the affiliate revenue seems to be stabilizing (still waiting to see what April's numbers will be to see if March and February were mere aberrations), there might be justification on bringing it back.

There's some pretty big changes coming, and hopefully everyone will like them.
